The FA refuse to apply the rules to Mourinho, so an appeal is just a free chance to get the ban dropped.

They also have a policy that if they turn down one Chelsea appeal the next appeal is nailed on to be granted no matter the circumstances.

No Lambert. And no Aguero, which should screw me over nicely in the Fantasy League.

Apart from Sessegnon and Berahino, that West Brom team looks really uninspiring to be honest.

Fancy Sterling to score tonight. And Nozzer is right, West Brom look awful. They really haven't spent well this summer, considering they've spent most of their budget on a centre back & up top where they are already quite strong compared to the wide areas.

Pulis factor can't be ignored though.... city always look functional to me so if you put a power play up against a thuggish solid philosophy they might not do well.

West Brom: James McClean (Wigan), James Chester (Hull City), Rickie Lambert (Liverpool), Serge Gnabry (Arsenal), Salomon Rondon (Zenit St Petersburg)

To be fair, that could be some decent additions up top, although it could suggest the Berahino or Ideye are off. And Gnabry could play wide as well. Chester's not a bad addition at the back. Not been impressed by McClean from what I've seen, but if Pulis can develop him then it could work out well. Or it may not. I agree that maybe other areas needed more work.

BBC says Lambert's playing instead of Sessegnon? And Sagna instead of Zabaleta?

    Quartet make debuts tonight

West Brom's summer signing Rickie Lambert goes straight into the mixer as he starts in attack alongside Saido Berahino. Fellow new signings, defender James Chester and winger James McClean, also make debuts. Centre-back Joleon Lescott plays against his former club.
Manchester City's £49m summer acquisition Raheem Sterling starts, with the visitors giving striker Wilfried Bony the nod ahead of Sergio Aguero, while Eliaquim Mangala partners Vincent Kompany in central defence.
