Has anyone played this game before and got a strategy for us innocents?

 

9pm nightfall tonight chaps/crossdressers.

 

I don't think it would be smart for everyone to do the same thing.

If we all investigate then the SK just doesn't kill and he will be investigated as innocent. And then the next day no one can investigate.
If we all vote for lynch or all protect oursleves then the SK has free reign to kill as no one is investigating him.

So i think it would be best if everyone just does what they want, hopefully roughly half the people investigate and half protect themselves... I don't think voting for lynch on day 1 makes sense as we have no info, better to investigate or protect. Makes for a boring day though

I am also confused how the voting works. If I vote for Sebb then decide to investigate, how does JPF tally the votes? Perhaps Sebb has the most votes but all those guys are investigating/protecting, so he actually would have zero votes?

 

So if you vote for someone, then I count you in a table I will definitely not be too busy having sex with my girlfriend to update... If you then decide to investigate or hideaway and you PM me, you would be removed from the vote table and everyone will know you're no longer voting.

I agree both with the fact that we need to mix it up and also that tonight it makes more sense to investigate/hide. We have a 6/7 chance of hitting a good guy and we wouldn't be able to vote tomorrow when we might hopefully have some info.

Just catching up - usually there are 10 pages worth by now, not 10 posts. No votes yet? Must be a first. Where are MITO and AFCFT when we need them?

If nobody votes, then surely the bad guys will just switch the investigations so we don't know if our results are true? Not sure that will achieve much for innocents.
This game could be a slow burn.

 

So if the bad guy (Nev) decides to flip the investigation - do we all get bum info thus rendering the investigation useless?

If we don't vote or investigate then we learn nothing.

Why would we tell people what we were doing? i.e. if we don't lynch, do we gain anything by telling the SK and Doc what we are doing? Do they gain anything?

I have to admit I haven't given this one as much thought as previous. I am just trying to get a handle on the parameters. It was much more fun to take a punt in the dark but it always seemed to play into the baddies hands (I should know )

I'm already suspicious of you making the point about which of the two you've done. That to me is SK talk, chucking an early red herring out there.

Surely this needs to be more organised. Surely we need to investigate a select few. Say we investigate 4 or 5. Even if the information is flipped we immediately know at least two or three of those are innocent. The MD and SK can't just go on flipping, they need the SK to start killing. I am just thinking we need some kind of strategy to start outing innocents ASAP. I am not sure of the right one, but I think some randomness is likely to tell us little.

 

I think not revealing which of the two roles any of us do is the common sense thing to do. Only the SK would want us to reveal as that would let him know which of us is easy targets.

 

Good point and I agree. I just think we need to somehow work this out.

What will we learn if some hide and some investigate. Then the SK and MD just flip on themselves. Are you suggesting this is a game of patience and we just force them to blink first by investigating/hiding until he comes out to kill, and hope we hit? I can see some value in that but it needs to happen quickly or the numbers will just dwindle once he starts killing.

I'm not sure how we can organise any investigations as the bad guys would then know whether to flip the results and who to flip them on.

Unless you're bluffing, selecting a list and then investigating people NOT on the list.

Or double bluffing and making them fall for the bluff...

Or triple bluffing...

 

@ JPF in general what are the rules if there are multiple players up for lynching? Will you coin flip to kill one, or do they all die? Or will there be special JPF random rule change? know different games have had different approaches.

 

I am just an innocent whore. I do like killing people though. I also like experimenting on people medically. I also do a bit of PI work on the side and love a game of hide and seek.

 

My own view is that they can't flip forever. At some point someone will blink and give something away. The numbers are in our favour so they are the ones who need to make the move. None of us have played this set up before and the thread already shows that the game is very different. It's more like a game of hide and seek than mafia, but they have more reason to stick their head above the parapet than we do.
