If a dictionary is needing an explanatory sentence or two for "to cut off one's nose to spite one's face" then Allam's boycott of his own club would do nicely.
Feck me again! I nominated you on Monday as this week's winner, and you proudly held that title until today, Sunday. But now, amazingly, you've displaced yourself. You are now the holder of first AND second place. Could any other candidate on this board ever beat this feat? Let me think ...
Sunbeam-Tiger said: ↑ If Allam said they sky was blue you argue against it you c××k or sorry c××ks are useful and your defiantly ain't. "Defiantly" NO! And, just out of curiosity, is King Tut in a position where he not only decides not to attend any more matches but could also take all his money and leave us to support North Ferriby?
http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...s-staying-away-after-vandals-strike-1-7401023 so they were 'spooked' and vandals attacked 2 or 3 times - can't they add up either - I think if you were attacked you'd know whether it was twice or more than twice
You're being pedantic Mr Ferryman, it's just an expression like "1 or 2" and "3 or 4". When overemphasizing something I've always used the expression "there were millions of them" as I did once when explaining the plight of the Aborigine in the Northern Territory only to be severely admonished as there was only 640,000 of them. "Hush mah marth, Suh"! The fact that the Allam's were attacked at all is disturbing but he has now thrown all of his toys out of his pram as well as spitting his dummy out so we will see very little of him this season. Will he reappear in the Directors Box next season if and when we achieve promotion back to the Premier League? Or when we secure promotion this season with a few games to go? I think he'll surface eventually (just my opinion) as will King Tut Junior.
But we are The Tigers and the nickname has been proudly used on lots of club things for years. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
I can't say that having Tigers on the scoreboard bothers me greatly, had we not had the nonsense of the past two years, nobody would think anything of it. I'd prefer it to say Hull City obviously, but there's other things that irritate me far more than the name on the scoreboard.
Police have received no reports of attacks on Allams’ property Regarding the weekend’s reports of attacks on the Allams’ property over the summer. Steve Bruce told the Yorkshire Post: “Towards the end of the season there were some mindless idiots throwing stones at their house. It happened more than once over the summer.” And similarly in the Hull Daily Mail: “I think they understand that it’s only a tiny minority who do things like throwing bricks at windows and damage your cars. There are idiots who have spooked their family. “It’s happened two or three times over the summer so they’ve thought the best thing for everyone is that they stay out of the road.” Meanwhile BBC reporter Ben Smith tweeted: "Worth saying that Assem Allam has had fans turning up outside his home and abuse directed both at him and his family” A Humberside Police spokesman told me today they’ve ‘received no calls or reports of criminality as described’ over the last five months at or near Assem or Ehab Allam’s homes, or their Allam Marine and KC Stadium business bases. So at the moment it is impossible to shed any more light on these incidents, unless the Allams themselves choose to speak about them, as none have required police attention. http://thekempton.tumblr.com/post/126332492498/police-have-received-no-reports-of-attacks-on
I cULDN'T MAKE OUT THE SCOREBOARD FROM THE SOUTH STAND. Cheers Lammy. Why does the police statement not surprise me....answers on a postage stamp to: I AM A LYING TOAD FACED MAN C/O THE PROPERTY THAT IS NOT GETTING BRICKED
Conflicting reports... A club spokesman said Mr Allam did not want to comment on the incidents outside his home but confirmed the matter had been referred to the police... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Stev...tory-27574369-detail/story.html#ixzz3iPmjS5vo
So maybe they didn't want to make a big deal out of it but cos Bruce has brought it up they now have to report it.
