There are loads of comments on loads of forums, all of which have the same thread - it was a CRAP programme. I cannot believe how poor it was!!

I find it incredibly hard to believe that in this day and age they could possibly have come out with something as mind-bogglingly abysmal as this......

When The Premiership crashed the producers at least tried to redeem matters by changing the time slot and tweaking the format although it was never a patch on MOTD.

I sincerely hope that the Channel 5 producers are reading all the forums and realise that they have made the mother of all turkeys and change things.

    I
I had always assumed that this was the most popular QPR forum, or at least one of them. Just discovered that my son is a member of the Facebook QPR forum. Last night he got a staggering 80 'likes' for a comment. Surprisingly this was a merciless attack on the idiocy of a fellow poster panicking over yesterday's result. I don't know where he gets that from. My son does say that that the quality is pretty low though.

I haven't seen the Channel 5 show, and going from the comments on here, I won't be making the effort any time soon.

It was staggeringly poor, I'm embarrassed for everyone connected to the show.

Undoubtedly this show is being produced by some of those 'imaginative' producers who like to be different for the sake of it. Footie fans are a simple bunch, we like goals, end-to-end stuff and order of the hierarchy, ie. top match first, high scoring games followed by snippets of 1-0s and less of 0-0s all in League order. It's worked for decades and doesn't really need changing but it will probably take a few more storms of criticism (similar to the BBC's Wimbledon highlights programme) before anything is changed...

The programme looked as if it was put together by students experimenting on You Tube.........mind this is the station that provides such quality as Big Brother so are we really surprised?

By the sounds of it the programme exactly matches the quality of the Football League. That's quite an achievement.

The Match of the Day format has worked for 50 years for the reason it gives people want they want and doesn't patronise them.

Keep it simple and you have perhaps 70 out of 85 minutes of actual action which is all anyone wants. You also save a fortune in wages for all the pointless extra staff required.

I assume this abomination was the result of market research where people just say things to get paid £50 at the end.

    I have emailed C5:

    ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

    Re: Football League Tonight

    What on earth was that?

Quite possibly THE worst 'football' programme EVER.

Please, please, please relinquish your rights to broadcast this drivel. The Football League show on BBC1 was bad, but you have taken football broadcasting to a new low.

From what I can gather on various football forums, my opinion is not unsupported.

Whoever is responsible for this HUGE pile of rubbish should be hanging their heads in shame.

Live audience, WRONG, both 'presenters' WRONG, erstwhile footballer (Adam Virgo - yes I DID have to Google it) that only fans of the teams he played for had heard of, WRONG. To regurgitate this on a Sunday morning, DOUBLE WRONG!!

I, along with countless others will not be tuning in again.

Oh dear, you are not very good at this football mularkey are you?
    ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

I will publish their reply, although I'm not expecting one for several months as my email was probably one of millions.

If Carlsberg did football highlight shows this would be the opposite.

Watched as much as I could bear. Irritating that they've mixed games in all leagues, so you have to trawl through the whole thing to see your division and your team. Incredibly patronising presentation - like Football League Does Blue Peter. At any minute, I expected them to demonstrate how to make goal posts from toilet rolls
