    He's just taking his time to adjust, he'll have a good season. I watched him in the Europa Cup a lot before he joined us and he can defend.

    Sakho's wife gave birth - he hasn't been training all week. So understandable for Lovren to start.

    Still don't agree with binning Moreno for a player who hasn't played at PL level before, or even LB. But he's talented enough to do a job.

    Don't like that we're playing a two man midfield but we'll see how it goes.

    True. From what I've seen of Gomez he looks very good indeed. Absolute steal at 3mil (or 3.5?).

    So LB we have some fairly good options now.

    Didnt realise about Sakho. Makes sense then.

    I think Gomez might just give Moreno a kick up the ass, he obviously has talent but wasn't brilliant last year so hopefully a bit of healthy competition will boost his performances.

    Absolutely - Gomez is seriously talented and I wouldn't be surprised if he does well. I think the issue I have is the logic behind picking him over Moreno and the lack of persistence or faith in him, as I think it's quite harsh.

    I guess if he played Moreno after homes out performed him in pre season, Gomez may feel demotivated and Moreno may think he doesn't need to perform as well to get his place.

    This way, Gomez is rewarded for good pre season while Moreno gets kick up ass
