His attempt at humour with that Cech joke was one of of the most cringe-worthy comments I have seen in a while. But Miggins has always been a **** and deserves his title as one of the many village idiots on here.
Exactly the same as last season then. Top four challenge, CL last 16 and a possible cup run. Not long to go now until AW retires though so eventually this squad of players should do something special.
No chance, he is bound to sign another extension, only the other week he was going on about how retirement scares him and he does not give it a moments thought.
well, the silver lining is I'll use it to slap HIAG with, he wakes up with sticky sheets dreaming of trotterham getting a result like this
Good luck with that. By the time we play you at your place we will be up their challenging and you will be down their scrapping it out with Watford etc. One game doesn't make a season but enjoy your one week in top half of the table !
I will, just like I enjoyed the 36 we spent there last season, almost as much as I'll enjoy watching the 'top-of-the table' clash against Leicester at Upton Park next week Some of you seem to be taking on the personality of your namby-pamby cry-baby team. You probably will be up there, or there abouts, come May and we won't, though I doubt we'll be lower than ninth, as a lot of teams will roll over for a tickling against you that won't for us. You, along with your team, need to grow a pair.
just saw highlights of the goals again, as for the second goal, Coq actually did his job, and then it was OXO who did a bad job of pressuring the player, while the CB's just stood and did nothing, BUT still that shot was so saveable. The first goal was mainly down to bad defending from the CB's and poor goalkeeping, so again fail to see all this talk of added steel in the midfield. How exactly would a Kondogbia or whoever else done anything different to stop those goals?
Some would say the scoreline doesn't reflect the game but in this case it does perfectly. We didn't take our chances and they capitalised, end of story... This game is a lesson for Arsenal and Wenger , (again) there are no easy games in this league especially the 1st of the season when 'smaller teams' are fresh and know they need to make a good start in order to survive the last quarter of the season when injuries and suspensions take their toll. We took this too lightly in my opinion and the wenger project is nothing without a great tactical setup. We looked disjointed, Ramsey, Giroud and Ozil played like they had just come off a beach in St Tropez. It's not good enough but we know this. Ox was the only one who played with impetus and Ramseys link up play with Giroud was a story of misplaced passes and broken down attacks.
A massive reality check for Arsenal that past results and pre season results mean nothing.....The reality hit home in a painful way that you cannot think for one minute that you will win because your at home and playing a side that wont get anywhere near a top 4 spot. Arsen has not learned a thing after Swansea did the double on him last season that you cannot take any team lightly no matter who they are or you will get punished. Excuses after the event is hot air as there is no excuse other than bad management of the game.....
That's ok then....silence speaks volumes as him and jose are the first ones to blame everyone else but themselves....
I don't quite understand the point you are attempting to make? The reality is anyone can beat anyone on their day in this league.
We do need a new striker but what was worrying is that the back ups failed to make any impact (Sanchez can be excused for lack of match practice). We should have approached this game a lot better but we soon ran out of ideas and lose composure when West Ham failed to roll over for us. Wenger really has to be quicker at subbing players who aren't performing and reshuffle accordingly. Giroud and Ramsey should have been taken off and partner Cazola with Ozil in the centre.. The system was being nullified by Bilic's tactics in the second half so we should have at least changed it up to cater for the change in Walcott as CF. We just carried on doing the same thing over and over, all Wenger did was add more attacking players that got in the way of each other. It was like hitting a brick wall with a foam hammer!
my thoughts on today. -Cech had a mare for both goals which is very unlike him.Would hope this was a once off and will be solid going forward. -I've said it before that Giroud is painfully slow on the ball.Cant remember him ever scoring a goal being put through 1v1 with opposition keeper.he is good as an impact sub but is not a striker that will bag us enough goals going for the title.Wenger said he expects other midfielders to chip in with their share of goals but surely you need a decent striker to bag you 20 plus goals as season.benzamen would certainly be a good addition. -Ozil stop bloody cutting inside everytimeyou receive the ball. The whole point of counter attacking is to move the ball forward quick as possible! -Monreal's distribution was poor today and he is not good enough to fill left back slot.Cant say I'm a big fan of Gibbs either so it's an area Wenger needs to address. -Mertersaker is simply to slow and will be found out again this season.Need to find a central defender quickly but they are not exactly going on trees. -Coq is good defensive midfield cover and that's in,need a new addition.Just hope Wenger doesn't start playing Arteta in that role.
If we don't strengthen then it will be inexcusable that positions we need strengthening have had players available this summer and we've not signed them. Vidal, Schneiderlin, Kondogbia, Martinez, Dybala, Mandzukic. Though I'm still of the opinion that signings wouldn't make a difference to our ability to put a challenge in for the title. But no signings would be just another error from AW. He's got to at least make an effort with transfers.
