The side are playing well. Colo looks poor though.

 

Good to go in drawing. And while we still look quite fragile at the back, even better to think we have attacking options. Get Aarons on and have him try and get their right back sent off I say.

Really pleased with the way we're playing football compared to last season. It's showing that we're behind in preparation with people not knowing where others are, or how they will run, as well as they should. That showed particularly at the goal where Janmaat and Mbemba should have worked together better, but they will likely be our two best defenders so hopefully that will come with time. Should never have had as much time to cross that ball though. Haidara has no excuses there, but we know that's one of the weak links.

 

This. One more foul and Cerdric's got to walk, he was on a final warnig after about 20 mins.

 

Agree, Aarons will give him fits and draw a foul in about 30 seconds and give us an easy man advantage

 

There appears very little cover for Haidara. Obertan certainly not tracking back to help.

 

If it's a silly foul he'll probably get one more warning with it being so long since the 20th minute. However, anything really rash and he'll have to go. Aarons would give him quite a few headaches, though Obertan has not been that bad (compared to what we expect) and has disrupted a few counter attacks too.

 

Don't think McClaren is quite as hot on his wingers tracking back as Pards was. There was an article in the Chronicle about Sissoko being played RW but being given licence to roam instead of covering. Risky but more exciting certainly. Might explain why Gouff is nowhere to be seen, unless Barca are about to sign him for £35m?

 

I thought he helped out a bit more than usual in that first half, though admittedly that's a low bar to start with. Did a fair job of breaking up a few quick counters further up the pitch before they got started.

 

It is clear we are playing football on the floor and not hoofball which is good in my opinion. Clearly we still need two players. Our right side is awesome our midfield is doing well. Papis apart from his goal his allround play is poor. But wtf is Obertan and Haidara doing lol. The lft side is our weak side!
