That is why Le Tissier's goal count is not as high as Lampards!

    Good coverage on the BBC

    Koeman to miss Newcastle trip?
    Newcastle v Southampton (13:30 BST)

He was on the touchline as Southampton beat Vitesse Arnhem 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday, but has Ronaldo Koeman been able to make it up to Newcastle today?

    Judging not by this tweet...

The Dutchman ruptured his achilles tendon taking charge of pre-season training, and will be replaced in the dugout by brother and assistant manager, Edwin.

That's very poor from the Beeb. Who do they think they are, the Grauniad?

The Phoenicians were great sailors in classical times and are even considered to have been amongst the first for writing (necessary because they were merchants, even trading with Britain).

Good line up and poised for some early pressure on the Newcastle defence. Davis in the holding role alongside Wanyama. Can see Reed bolstering that area later on.

Have to say it may seem a little too attacking and we could get punished. BUT if it pays off, we could be in for a lovely afternoon.

Mane, JRod and Pelle...strong attack. Hope a gap doesn't appear in midfield behind those three without Schneiderlin.

Both Vitesse and Espanyol found gaps in our central midfield and a safe bet is that gaps will be found when we field such an attacking lineup. But I don't care, our attack looks tasty.

Wow, we're going for it. Sissoko definitely has the pace and power to exploit any gaps we might leave. Hopefully we can blow them away. I'm expecting goals looking at the line ups, but it will probably be 0-0
