I think this lad had earned a shot at the top flight and have championed him for 2 or 3 years. His stats are better than Austins when he got his chance so its a Definite yes from me and off loading some deadwood appeals too, however it strikes me as panic time now with us desperate for new faces again. It doesn't feel like a carefully planned transfer policy to me rather it's a chuck darts at a a list.
Not sure how well known or rated SKP was when we bought him from the lower leagues...but seem to recall that worked out ok. Definitely worth a punt, the kid knows where the goal is.
I said I'd rather have his strike partner Gustede. I hadn't realised he'd just signed for Villa and yesterday scored the winner for them. I would much rather we went for Austin, who now also has premiership experience.
Rhodes has a far better record than Austin over a 4 year period and deserves his chance. As mentioned, SKP was an unknown but with a similar record when we bought him. Rhodes is a goal scorer in the old fashioned kind. He scuffs them, whacks them and taps them and is s finisher we lack. I'd be happy with this.
Don't rate the lad pal. I think his a championship forward. His overall game isn't good enough for me.
Whilst I do think a guy who can get them all ways is capable of stepping up and doing it, my only nagging doubt is if he,s that good why hasn,t anyone else took him over the last couple of years? Guess we,ll have to trust Dick whoever comes in

I thought the smogs had a 12m offer for Rhodes knocked back, so 8m even with graham chucked in doesn't sound right. They'd be better taking Boro's 12m and buying two strikers.
If Dick leaves which is a possibility, I hope he leaks his wish list, it would make a fascinating read, I doubt if JR would be on it, we have both JD and SF for this spot and both can fill the role without setting the world on fire. We have the worst mid field in the premiership and this is where we should be looking to spend first imo.
