He should never have been offside for the disallowed goal! My point is that some of your build up play was superb but it broke down too often when it got to Gomis.

Think you could be in for another good season though.

Happy with the performance - we truly look at home in the PL these days. Montero is awesome - when he went off, so did a large chunk of our attacking threat. He skinned Ivanovic all day long.
I feel disappointed that we didn't win that game ! With Chelsea going down to 10 men for the last half hour, we will never be given such a gilt edged opportunity to beat them on their patch again.
Overall very happy. Just disappointed we didn't get more. Greed is good.

When I saw the team I like every Jack and his dog ( Jack) , O h no ,we are going toe to toe with the champs. Fair do to the maestro ,he was spot on and I think he will be disappointed with the result!
The boys were terrific and give their all for the cause.Jonjo had his best game for us I give him 9/10 and Montero 11/10 ,gave Ivanovic a new one! Monk remembers the semi in the COC. When he gave us 2 goals.

A very impressive and powerful performance from us when Chelsea had 10 and 11 players on the pitch. If we do that every week, we're going to beat a lot of teams.
    Brilliant!

Well we wanted a more traditional attacking display this season, we most definitely got that today. Swift passing, blistering counter attacks and great defensive unit displays all in one game. Had we won, that for me might have been our best performance in the PL.

Boom boom boom let me hear you say Ayew.........Ayew!! Good premier league debut from Dede, seemed to adjust to the pace as the game went on, which was important. Liked the look of Eder too, any word on how long Ki will be out for?

Right where's that Monk Out thread ? Bloody appalling today ffs ! Thank goodness they've got to come to the Liberty and hopefully we can redeem ourselves . We have still got too play big teams like Villa and Sunderland so we have to take all three points against these weaker teams, otherwise we won't get top four . You mark my words !

Terrific game fore the neutral, really pleased with the way Monk set the team up, and had we had a bit more luck could easily have won that game, Gomis has to think quicker on his feet, he should have had at least two goals today. My MOTM was Shelvey, his distribution and work rate was excellent. Brilliant start to the season, and bodes well for the Jacks.............<ok>

Monty and Ayew runners up for MOTM.

    Man of the Match
Jefferson Montero was at the Copa America tournament in Chile for Ecuador during the summer and has not had a full summer's rest since 2011. You would not have known it at Stamford Bridge. The 25-year-old was at his threatening best and used his pace to cause problems. He was also not shy to test Courtois or Begovic.
The stats you need to know
    • Andre Ayew has scored in eight of his last 14 league game (France and England), including four of his last six.
    • Swansea held the lead for just 1 minute 35 seconds in this game before Federico Fernandez's own goal.
    • Oscar has scored three goals in his last 12 Premier League appearances - all coming versus Swansea.
    • Swansea only received two Premier League penalties in 2014-15.
    • Thibaut Courtois is third Chelsea keeper to see be sent off in the Premier League after Frode Grodas in 1997 (v Everton) and Petr Cech (v Wigan in 2009)
    • Courtois' red card was Chelsea's 70th in the Premier League, 17 of which have come under Mourinho (24%).
    • Bafetimbi Gomis is one of two players (along with Steven Naismith) to have scored v Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City & Man Utd over the last two Premier League seasons.

    Another stat:

The Swans 10 attempts on target was a record for an away team at Stamford Bridge since Opta stats began in 2003.
