Yep. Disappointed we didn't take all three points after recording the most number of attempts by an away side at Stamford Bridge since opta stats began in 2003.

    Other comments:

Ivanovic: Destroyed by Montero. Another great performance by the Swans winger

John Terry - An ugly snarling player making a pathetic attempt to change the referees/linesmans decision after a stone wall penalty was given. Does he actually go over and offer a bribe?

Diego Costa - An ugly snarling player screaming at the ref after not being given a penalty after an outstanding tackle by Fernandez who clearly took the ball

Jose Mourinho - an ugly snarling manager who was going beserk on the touchline, often wandering outside the technical area. He couldn't bring himself to make any comments in post match interviews.

Chelsea - A team with some wonderful players but there's an ugly, snarling spine to the Club which leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Accepting defeat/draws in a sportsmanlike manner would be the order of the day for a few key personnel at the Club.

Difficult to gauge from highlights having only seen 20 mins or so live but given Chelsea's goals were a freak own goal and a lucky cross, Swansea will be a bit gutted not to have won the game.

I think the interviewer was trying to get Mourinho to say something controversial. The ref got all the big decisions right and I think Jose knew that.

Montero was superb. Ivanovic all but gave up trying to defend against him. Chelsea were lucky to get a point. Courtois will be one of the best keepers in the world eventually but currently he is an accident waiting to happen. Begovic could turn out to be a great signing as he looked more composed than Calamity.

Thought we were terrible. Going down to ten men didn't help but it was dross long before that. No pace at the back, sluggish build up and offering nothing up front. Zouma has to start IMO. A good side like City next week could absolutely murder us if we don't buck up.

Zouma in for who? Fabregas? How defensive can a midfield be?

On yesterdays showing, either Terry or Cahill. Much needed pace.

The penalty in my opinion was a close call, but OK if it was I cant get see it was a sending off! If that had been committed by an outfield player that would surely would have been at worst a yellow card!

The red wasn't for the malice of the tackle. He was perceived to be preventing a goalscoring opportunity by committing the foul, which is fair enough.

It's debatable as it was a goal scoring opportunity but Gomis is such a donkey that he would almost certainly have missed.

In all seriousness, definitely a penalty and definitely a red card. Courtois is still a naive keeper.

We still don't look anywhere near ready to start the season. We look knackered already. The difference from last season is so obvious to see, we were well prepared and got our players in early but we are the complete opposite this season.

The performance was poor, although we didn't do badly to come out of it with a draw as we were a man down for quite a while! That's the worst game i've seen Ivanovic play, although i thought he was poor last season he wasn't this bad. Montero is a tidy player but he'll come against about ten better wide men than him this season. Fabregas didn't fare much better either, lazy and gave the ball away so many times. They played well though, Gomis was a handful, Shelvey was tidy on the ball and Montero was lively.

As for us, we still need a Left Back, Centre Back and Centre Midfielder and i don't understand at all why we aren't looking for a midfielder?!

Unless fitness was a problem, then we are not looking too flash. Precisely the weaknesses we had last year are still there, plus another one.
The back 4 had not a jot of attacking flair, so no threat ever came from the deep. Dave and Ivan do bang on ,but always down the sidelines with a cross to finish. Doesn't take much imagination to be prepared for that. Fabregas can't dominate games by himself, because Matic spent most of the game cleaning up in front of the defenders who are extremely vulnerable to pace. Up front we are not direct enough, and Willian and Hazard ran miles, often finishing up where they started. Hazard is always dangerous, but hasn't hit any form yet, and Willian just doesn't finish. Oscar frustrates more than he impresses. Costa would be a miles better player if he harnesed his skill and strength to score goals, not waste it on petulance.
Ivan had an absolute shocker, and I sincerely hope his being shredded for pace doesn't become a regular problem. Dave also is tending to commit holding and grabbing fouls when beaten.
Very poor showing, though the dumb sending off put the team in a bad situation.we will need to step up big time next week.

I think not getting in any stellar signings this summer could come back to bite Chelsea, unless you go back into the market before it closes.

They always say buy when your strong, so I think it has been really silly to sit back this summer like you have, with all your rivals strengthening.

Just yesterday's game wouldn't normally be a concern, but the fact you couldn't win 1 game in 90 mins throughout pre season should have alarm bells ringing

Agree with all of this. Can't believe how sluggish and inept we were. As you said, we will have to step up big style next week.

They can do it Blueman, we all know that, but our sluggishness and failure to address the ( to me) glaring weaknesses have me thinking we will have a torrid time until reinforcements are brought in. I'd make Pogba the first choice, what a difference his power would make to us. Oscar, Rambo and Mikel can all go, that should just about make the finances work.

I don't care who we sign. But we need Zouma in there big time. Jose could easily make this title very difficult.

And No Mikel + Rambo ever, please.

Are we really that skint? I just find it baffling that we haven't strengthened. As you say, Rambo and Mikel can go. Personally I would keep Oscar, even though some wouldn't agree.

Agree about Mikel and Rambo and yes, Zouma immediately. Our lack of pace at the back was exposed big sytle.

Jose is such an idiot that he thinks chelsea have only to put any 11 players on the pitch and it will be a foregone conclusion.......His actions during the match waving his arms like a demented chicken at every correct decision by the ref makes him look a right idiot, and the way he shot out of the stadium at break neck speed says it all.....He needs a reality check and we gave him one and he needs to show some humility because questions need to be answered why some fans cant remember Chelsea winning a game recently and that's a big worry.
