I had a quick google there to see the "socialist" extent of the National Socialists policies - this seemed to involve simply being non-capitalist.


However, it did throw some interesting stuff - Mussolini wanted to re-name Fascism "Corporatism" - the marriage of state and corporate power.

The inclusion of the word "socialist" within the National Socialist party's name does not mean that they were socialists at any point when they were in power - their rounding up and shooting of prominent Socialists shows that more than anything.

One of the primary ideals of traiditional socialism is that the state is subversive to the people (although it never pans out that way) - one of the primary ideals of National Socialism was that the people were subserviant to the state.

They were NOT socialists just as most of the world's Communist regimes are/were not Marxist.

Marx believed in non-violent revolution but the Leninists/Bolshoviks believed in armed uprising - the Menshiviks were really the only true Marxists in the Communist movement
