Just been chatting to a Coventry fan this lunch time and he rates him very highly. He’s said he’d be a big loss and could definitely do a job for us.

He also thinks it’ll be the nail in Coventry’s coffin, good bet for relegation.

be a cracking signing. Part of the team that was doing so well for cov last season until we played them and suddenly there downfall came about. What are you expecting for a holding midfielder, he picks the ball up, plays simple balls to the better players. Sometimes it's hard to please alot of you on here! we said last season we needed a no nonsense player in our midfield. And were getting 1. He's captain of a decent club and has been at some good clubs.

    Welcome to Leeds Cling(film)an

Come on Monster you must remember Batty and his inspirational dribbling and huge goal tally!! Surely that's what we're looking for!

LOL - those were the days when he used to pick up 30 yard balls, smash them in from 30 yards with his heels!

Video was submitted on the 5th july 2011 - he's only just been given the captains armband. So my guess is, he probably won't leave

Spoke to a friend who is a Coventry City fan and he said he would be davastated to lose him, can't see many Coventry fans with mixed emotions or saying let him go like many (myself included) were saying about Johnson and Kilkenny...

I'm not sure. He's the type of player Leicester have been all over (star player in not so great teams). From what I'm seeing from Cov fans he could be a steal.

How do you know? It's very unlikely we'll ever see a player like Bremner ever again, as for Batty, he was quality, not sure about inspirational (i'd go for Strachan if you're looking for someone to inspire others).

Clingan seems like the type of player we'd grow to love at ER.

    Itsa,
I hope you're right,& no I don't know cos I haven't seen much of him but nor has anyone else on here by the sounds of it & that's what worries me a bit. He's been around a while so surely if he was up to much we'd know a bit more about him than we do.
Anyway the general concensus on here seem pretty positive about him(even if they've only got the word of Coventry fans to go on) so I guess I'm in the minority.
Must remember to fill my glass up to half full as its half empty at the moment!

Think he would be a decent addition ....

We need a much stronger midfield than last year

We've got the battling midfielder in, now we need the play maker. I don't rate Howson, never have, so I'd rather see a decent or up and coming midfield play maker come in. Where they come from I don't care, as long as they are good enough and can play throughout the season. A player like Davis at Rangers (no chance, he would come) would be ideal.

Howson's one of the bast players in the league. I don't see how you can't rate a player who scores 10+ goals from midfield. If by "playmaker" you meen a Kilkenny type then Clingan seems to do for Coventry what Killa was supposed to do for us.
