Were people really trying to argue that Gardner is as good as Tiote, or Larrsson as good as Barton? Seriously all bias aside that is asylum type talk. Larrsson is just a back up PL player. I expect that's how he'll end up at Sunderland. Barton was top quality and would have been off to a better side but for his shall we say up and down past! As for Gardner and Tiote, howay man he's not even in the same ballpark. One is one of the best defensive midfielders in the division who will be top 4 within 2 years (some would say a month!). The other is an average midfielder who would not get into a side in the top 8, let alone top 4. He failed to break in at Villa, moved across the city and was flattered by his goal tally last year. He's a trier but certainly not a great passer of the ball, or technically great. Surely this is not what Sunderland needed to balance out the graft of Cattermole? Comparing the two is a bit strange as they're different types of players. Cattermole is the one to compare with Tiote and Tiote is a lot better at this stage. Gardner would be compared with Cabaye, and to be honest Cabaye should be better on pedigree but who knows if he'll have the cahunas for the league. I'll be straight, I think Wickham is a tremendous signing. I think the two Man U lads are pretty average hence they didn't play much, but have to be good additions in terms of knowledge. But Gardner/Larrsson/Vaughan are all pretty average. I see Sunderland having the same problem as last year, a lack of quality in the middle of the park.

The difference is, without scouring you tube or Wiki, I can pretty much tell you about everyone of our signings and I am highly delighted with their acquisition. Now, again without you tube or Wiki, tell me something about Cabaye, Arfa (you only saw 4 games, so dont tell me he is a world class footballer) or Marveaux? Ba is the most well known and he has only played 12 games in the EPL? Deluded? The title is still yours craas.
Not really, our reserves and youths played out the final 12 games and yet we still finished higher than your lot - for the 3rd consecutive year BTW as well. Nothing this summer has happened to make that scenario any less likely to be 4 in a row except maybe we can stay injury free, it will be a helluva lot easier. Come back when you have enough ammunition to mount a serious argument please. Mind you, 2nd club status suits your lot though.
