Its nice to see Swansea back on the map for good things, even though its technically its in Neath Port Talbot , Wish I was going to Uni there! http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/pictures/Bay-campus/pictures-27565139-detail/pictures.html
There is a rumour going around that our old friend JOHN THE MANAGER of the pilot football team is to be the first pupil through the doors when it opens..
Look at the student accommodation My old student digs look like it got hit by a nuke compared to theirs.
It does look good, that's the 21st century for you mate, I stayed at home for my degree, it was called being a mature student
It reminds me of the excitement I felt when being the 1st through the doors at Morriston Comp when that opened in 1970.
Well they have upgraded that as well, think they have spent a fortune there. They have also upgraded morriston hospital so it looks like an airport lounge now, and another upgrade is coming where a further £600m+ is being spent between there and singleton. And if we are to believe the council there will be a transformation of the city centre to come, could it be that we are getting investment for our ugly little town ?
There's a new newly erected sign on the land adjacent to the Trafalgar Bridge in SA1 , the University are also developing the site and building an innovations department there so it looks very promising for the City in terms of an increase of overseas students . and a boost to the local economy .Now if we could just get beyond the perennial artist impression with these proposals http://www.walesonline.co.uk/business/business-news/spectacular-flyover-video-shows-swanseas-8575691
I hope so, my youngest who is starting 6th form will hopefully enjoy those facilities, what a fabulous campus. When I was in school they had ink wells!................
They dont have to think for themselves or use their brain today like we had to in my day........There are more passes getting A - A+ grades than ever. Even the dunces are getting passes just because they can use calculators or are good on computers. Its all done for them. you talk to them in the real world and most are thick as ****....The sad thing is the really bright kids have to compete with thousands of others now that really should not be of the same grade.....Exams today are getting easier year on year that the majority with certificates are not worth having as they will never get the type of job they had hoped for and end up stacking shelves and the like like the kids with no qualifications........
Thing is Dai lots of stuff has changed since you were in school, like it or not computers are integral to almost any job you do now, the real world is that you have to move with the times. I would say the exams are not easy, I can attest to that as I have a teenager going through GCSEs now, the exams were tough and didn't get what wanted. The fact is that teens are not the empty headed morons you think they are!
