Did I? I thought I was pretty vocal about how he missed a couple of easy chances, looked isolated, hardly impacted the flow of the game, against League 1 opposition? ...

Not sure taking a selfie warrants that expletive. Okay you may think selfies and twitter etc is a load of rubbish, but it's how players and clubs are keeping in touch with their fanbases and I wouldn't mind betting the players are being encouraged to do it. We don't even know that someone didn't hand him the selfie stick and their phone to get a picture of him or with him.

He seemed to be working harder than Balotelli and history says he is a better player but today he loved up to the fears of not being a suitable cog in the works.

We needed someone dynamic, agile, and able to create his own chances. Instead we got someone strong and eager to follow up on someone else's creativity.

I'm sure he Will get us 10 maybe more goals this season but he's not exactly the ideal fit.

That said it is still early days and he still has plenty of time to show he can adapt. He might also do well partnering with Studge if he ever recovers and is still good enough to make the team after injuries.

    Bentekkers is brilliant

We played a poor set up and so he got isolated.

Play 433 and just get it right and he will get 20+

  18. We didn't change the way we play for Carroll. We then didn't change for Lambert or Balotelli. Why would Brod change it now for Benteke...? What we saw yesterday is what we'll see most of the season. I hope I'm wrong and we get to see two up top but I sincerely doubt it.

benteke was excellent. i blame milner and henderson......

when can came on it was better

oh and it was stoke away... you'll find they will be top half minimum and quite hard to beat for a lot of sides. we took all 3.

Roll on bournemouth and a benteke hat trick.

Not calling him a plan b as that's too simplistic, but it's nice to have someone that puts fear into defenders from a pay oval side of things and offers us a completely different option.

Didn't work out totally today, but there were a couple of times he made runs behind (nice 1-2 with coutinho that just went to the keeper) and nearly gt on the end of Can's through ball.

Think it'll take 5-6 games before we really see him start linking up better but I've no doubt he'll do well for us. We have good options that Benteke offers us one thing but Ings and Origi (and Sturridge when fit) can come on and offer us something different.
