If so, the proportions of ingredients are different. I much prefer Lion Bar.

/ can't get picnic here either.

I don't think they make Picnics anymore mate, but then I don't go in sweet shops either so can't really be sure <laugh>. If it's not in Tesco or Asda I won't see it.

Don't ask me how I came across it but I saw a youtube of American kids trying British 'candy' - they were pleasant about most of it but hated Turkish Delight to the point of spitting it out. Do you not get Turkish Delight over there - even the one covered in powdered sugar?

To be fair I didn't like Turkish Delight when I was a child. Even now I prefer the real stuff than the chocolate covered stuff.

You can't get it in most stores. World Market sells it (and other international stuff at 4x the price) or where I normally get it is from the Pita House, a Lebanese restaurant that has a mini grocery store attached to it that sells a lot of middle eastern (and British) stuff.

I mi don't like Turkish delight but my dad brought some proper stuff back from Turkey and was totally different. It was thicker than the jelly type stuff you get here and we're nicer flavours like chocolate etc.Was very nice

Is it the one you get in a round plywood type box? [that's what I've seen] I like both kinds the Fry's variety and the 'real' one. I was always fascinated by it after reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as a child, the children in the novel ate it - I thought it would be wonderful... well I don't know about wonderful but I do like it.

Yes 'delightful' does seem more apt <laugh>

I always used to wonder why old people liked toffee, it lasted too long for my liking a bit like hard boiled sweets, never much of a fan of those - but these days I love toffee ................ can't think why <whistle>
