....... another striker ? No I don't believe I've gone cuckoo, It's a fair question. I believe that we are not taking the new formation that D A is trying to set in place seriously. Not for him the old 4-4-2, oe a 4-3-1-2 etc, etc. He is looking for 3 geniune front runners ALL capable of scoring, indeed all expected to contribute goals. I believe that a front three of Jonno, Defoe and Lens - all with the ability to interchange and read a game/move we are approaching this. With Giacc and Fletch as backup not forgetting Watmore, and hopefully Janusaj - we will have an attack where the opposition do not have just one or even two forwards/goal scorers to harness. How do you defend against 3 mobile forwards plus any midfeilders making runs ?? Dick is taking us there, fasten your seat-belts and enjoy the ride (even if/when we fail now and again) KTF
We need a forward, whether that turns out to be an out and out striker or somebody more adaptable remains to be seen. The Number 10 hasn't been claimed or the number 9. Tells me there's an AM and a FW to come
If Defoe gets injured I'll honestly be worried. It'll be like having only bendtner as our striker again, that was a worrying season
What I was trying to say was that why have a marque striker, that can be marked ? With threee forwards capable of scoring, dragging defenders, giving room to others. It's a formation that creates space for others, and with players to revolve and/or replace these 3 or indeed any 3 is a formidable formation. Any three from:- Lens, defoe, jonno, janusaj, watmore, fletcher and indeed any late recruits, and we are set for a season to be remembered.
In terms of numbers we probably don't need another striker but in terms of quality we could do with someone as a bit of an upgrade on Fletcher preferably someone who can add an extra dimension to our attack (skilful, pacey, powerful just anything other than non de-script like the Fletch). As the original post suggests I think we're alright in the wide areas of attack if we can get Janusaj or someone like that in
I've not been following the Janusai rumours to be honest mate, wouldn't be surprised if your right and it's not happening. If it's not we could do with someone in as cover at least considering Giac's injury record.
The whole Yanuzaj thing is from a lazy journo or a stupid agent. There hasn't been a squeak from anywhere or any else as far as I can see.

Yes. Lens maybe able to work that role. But if Defoe gets injured and having to rely on Fletch and Graham. Dont wanna think about it.
I remember him looking quite decent a couple of seasons ago, would be well worth having him in on loan if the whole Janusai thing doesn't happen.
Can see where you're coming from and to be fair our strikers have had p::s poor service as well but I can,t see Fletch or Graham getting near double figures tbh, for me we need one
