So he's high on himself because he picks the team he wants? That makes no sense really.

You appear to be another one who seems to know what's going through another person's mind from the little evidence we see. :)
As I said earlier, a manager is paid to manage, and everything he does and says is a part of that. Of course he makes the decisions according to how he sees them- that's his job. He will stand or fall on the effectiveness of those decisions.
You can call it ego, or you can call it self confidence, it depends on how you prefer to see it. Either way a manager has to have it, or he'll get nowhere.

You mean the club legend that he has actually got rid of, Johnson who we simply couldn't offload due to wages so let his contract run down - now gone, our GK who every ****er was hounding so he dropped, and Lovren - despite how much you say he was persistent with... Was in fact dropped !!!

With respect mate, you're having a mare. At no point have I made any judgement on the team he picks. I was only ever commenting on whether he has the balls to drop a player. I said the reason was quite the opposite. I called him a narcissist. Whether he picks the right team or the wrong team is for others to decide. But my example of Gerrard being dropped against Real Madrid was to show, lacking balls is not Rodgers problem.

I'm not making a judgement on his decision making or his overall management. The OP asks if he lacks the balls. That's a question about his personality. Basically, is he a coward. My response was that as a person he's quite the opposite. All anyone can do on here is give an opinion on something like that as none of us know him. I am surprised that someone who does appear to be high on himself, someone who seems to believe he has the aura of Shankly just bcos he spouts the right soundbites, can be considered to lack balls. If anything he probably does exactly what he wants to regardless.

Yes you did. You said he's got a really high opinion of himself, and used it as the reasoning for why he picked a certain player for one game, and didn't pick him for another game.

There's plenty of things Rodgers has done that you can point to that indicate that he has a high opinion of himself but this just isn't one of them.

You think Rodgers wanted to let Gerrard go? Gerrard left because the owners didn't offer him a contract. Same with Johnson.

And yes, we could have run Johnson's contract down but that doesn't mean we had to play him week in week out.

Also, Migs was only back in the side because Jones got injured. And Lovren wasn't dropped - he picked up an injury.

A lot of good things that came about last season were forced on Rodgers IMO.

You pick and choose who made what decision based on whichever makes Brod look worse Jimmy!

Lovren could not get a game because he had been dropped.

Besides isn't it contradictory to claim some players that are dropped are thrown under a bus but if he tries to persist with others its weak, tactically inept etc.

I find myself defending him like some blind faithful which isn't who I am but some of the **** that is thrown at him is unjust to say the least

Lovren was not dropped - he was injured.

Because look at the context - he blamed the youngsters for lack of experience. They were the ones who actually performed well for us, but he backed the underperforming older sh*t players. Rodgers himself is a walking contradiction.

I thought Rodgers was all for meritocracy? He isn't - he has favourites who will persist with but he won't do the same for others.

It was a combination of the 2, he got injured and then he was out in the cold until Sakho got injured.

All I know is that the bloke mentions the word 'attitude' all of the time and he looks for the right ones and gives them the time of day.

In some circumstances it has been proved that he doesn't just stick with favourites all the time. Look at 'love child' Allen for example, plays very rarely.

Henderson in contrast, tried to sell him and he is now our captain!
