Guilty through writing a poorly researched and extremely woolly pile of nonsense mate.

No .... your 'guilt by association' comment I took to mean - from a 'certain' point of view [not yours] if it's in the TT - whether written by him or not - it's rubbish.

I just extended that to include - from a 'certain' point of view [not yours] if it's anything LFC, it's rubbish <ok>

@Gerrez - I think this is a long winded way of calling you a thick **** mate <laugh>

    <whistle>

For the record - Tomkins is a biff, but I judged that piece on its content not it's context, and it was largely pish.

I agree that Tompkins is a cock.

The piece itself does tell us anything any of us should not already know.
I myself have said that 15th October 2010 was the day lfc was saved.

Less than 5 years ago and now look at how we have recovered from near cataclysmic implosion. Fsg can take a lot of kudos from turn this round and the club will be competing at the sharp end as a result....

But.... this summers tour should be sending warning chills down fsg spines. The club has to succeed on the pitch and deliver stars to sell merchandise

    It's quite simple exit strategy?

    What exit strategy?

That'd be like asking Zuckerberg what was his exit strategy or bill Gates or any of a 1000 others even the glaziers. This is an asset that performs for them. Very lucrative markets and global reach.

It seems the Arabs at city are not asked this nor romantic abramovich but the yank owners are... why? British lack of understanding of us business I guess. Us business isn't all about a quick buck.

  9. My 'guilt by association' comment was aimed at Tobes' dislike towards anything Liverpool related <ok>

  10. Or he misunderstood my original point <whistle>

For the record, I'm just stringing the conversation along. I know people (such as yourself) don't like Tomkins.

Performs what for them? Comedy value?

It's not given them a bean in terms of a return on capital employed to press. It's just got a massive wedge of their cash tied up in it. As an asset it's not 'performed' at all in that regard. The only thing it now has, is an improved sale value (in the crazy World of football club valuations) so their only current means of achieving a return is via the exit strategy route - it's the only thing he got right in that entire piece.

''I agree that Tompkins is a cock.''

You know Tomkins didn't write the article.

Have you not read any of his books or is it because you've read them you have this opinion? He's written some great books, not read them all but Dynasty is superb.

I've read lots of his stuff. He joined the lfc website and became an apologist for g&h and a propaganda tool. When he was dumped he changed his tune.

No time for that sort of crap

He loved his in with rafa etc.

  18. Don't recall him standing up for H&G. I used to read a lot of his stuff on Rafa because he had very similar views to myself. Not read his stuff for ages because (a) he started charging and (b) the stuff I did read were crap, boring and (imo) wrong.

He had a regular column on lfc website during the g&h era and before and indeed after. His premise is say what's popular.

His stuff on lfc.TV was unapologetically pro lfc at a time when we could all see the truth of g&h....

Now Did we expect a guy to throw in his job no..... but..... comical Ali did a better snow job bagdad
