Ha-ha absolutely wonderful. Actually I almost felt sorry for the Aussie woman who contacted the Guardian Test match comments feed to say she was in labour and her midwife had recommended watching the cricket as some form of distraction before the baby came. Not much chance of that then!

Well so far the most exciting part of the game has been the lunch break, we didn't lose a wicket there. If Cook was smart enough he would have declared the English 1st innings closed at 0/0 had the Aussies back in , got them all out for 45 and won the match by about 19-20 wickets FFS.

As bad as Australia were... and they were pretty bad, they were unlucky that nearly every ball they played took a knick and carried straight to the slips. Batsman play far worse shots, get away with it and go on to make big scores, it was just one of those freak innings where everything goes one way.

No excuses Airlie Tiger. For some who are supposed to be at the top of the worlds batting, there is just no excuse. Australia were/are disgraceful, Whilst England have been that good they have even surprised themselves. Amazing what a bit of confidence, or the lack of it can do to a team, and we have seen both examples here

Joe Root is turning into one England's best ever batsmen. He has now scored three Ashes' centuries and he's still not 25.
