I assure you that I am not trying to wum anybody - just trying to maintain a 'balanced' debate.

I think I just about believe you about the wumming. However, we've one the balanced debate thing and, on the Loft For Words (I think) site there was a debate with one of the opposers. Neither side will give an inch to the other so it's just a question of whose pockets are deeper and which way the quirky English law will fall.

Why should the citizens of the surrounding area not have a voice in the possible closure of something which essentially belongs to the general public ?

The general public will benefit massively from the extra facilities. Why should the majority lose out due to the grumbles of a loud minority?

English don't like change because they on the general live their lives in a rut … all is left is the moaning and chewing the fat.
Sorry Warren Farm but you need to understand that this will be a good thing for the area … let's face it it needs something … I expect the arguments are what?
No green areas? … Don't live in a city then they expand and change all the time

Why so negative about the protesters, who are doing nothing other than trying to protect an area which they have had access to, and which was, supposedly, protected by law. Why such value judgements as 'motley crew' and 'co-opted kids' they are simply a picture of a community protecting itself. QPR have other options, the protesters don't. Try looking under the website www.savewarrenfarm to find out a. what is involved and b. how many people are involved. I would also like to know in which way Warren Farm is actually 'costing money which Ealing does not have' before stating it as fact.

In general, I agree with you. They are entitled to their say. For what it is worth. Which is frankly very little. The planning system is powerless unless there are vested wealthy interests at stake. I'm not aware of any and I used to live in Ealing. The land is not being used and certainly can't be costing them much to leave the status quo in place. The so-called cost is, I suspect, inaccurate use of words to tell the real story. I suspect what was meant is that they are relying on the money in order to balance the books given the massive cuts from central government money. They can do so by cutting services drastically or mitigate that by selling off land that is not being used. Land like Warren Farm. If they are not allowed to do so there will be a very real cost to the residents of Ealing in terms of what their local authority can do for them.

My dog will still need somewhere to ****

Here in Canada dog owners have to practise this:-

We don't have a dog here, but as a kid in UK that was the whole idea of the morning after breakfast dog walk, which loosened the bowels, so he would conduct his business on a neighbour's lawn, away from your own property - now that was a successful outcome!

Sunday was the weekly poop patrol in our dog-proof garden to collect all the home grown business.

I dont really have a dog, i just like to park up for a spot of dogging

Indy is a Black Lab / Collie cross breed. We adopted him when he was 10 months old. As a young dog, he had multiple “issues”. He was overweight and very badly behaved.

His previous owner had clearly loved him dearly, but as Indy was such an energetic dog they found him hard to cope with. The solution was lots of long walks in Nonsuch Park and Warren Farm and plenty of dog training.

South Woodham Ferrers: Council to investigate "dogging" spot

You must log in or register to see images

Villagers have campaigned against an A120 layby near Pattiswick being used as a dogging spot.

An advert for dogging in a public car park has got some hot under the collar.

A saucy website has been advertising a car park next to South Woodham Ferrers Rugby Club as a popular place for couples and strangers to meet for sexual encounters.

Chelmsford Borough Council will now be investigating whether any dogging is going on in its South Woodham Ferrers car park.

The council and residents are so outraged they will be watching the layby closely with night vision goggles.

and here's an old photo of the campaigners in Pattiswick to demonstrate what people against dogging look like! Thanks for that B&W

What is the problem with people getting it together with others? Its a free country!

" Council to investigate "dogging" spot. " Why not send a MBS reporter down there 1 night to check ?

keith_l says...10:41pm Sun 11 Mar 12

Can someone please explain what a layby on the A120 near Pattiswick has got to do with and article about SWF - they must be about 30 miles apart.

It's so little used in its current, ****, state and these NIMBYs really think it won't eventually be developed into something far more intrusive than a training ground that will maintain lots of green areas and contribute positively to the community. If the club doesn't get it I hope they build a big **** off Asda there with multi-storey car park.
