Not sure if Radio Solent were trying to make a joke of it but they have tweeted Koeman will miss the game tomorrow because of the injury. If in pain and needing surgery that could be the case I guess. Anyone ITK?
Probably just misunderstanding his humour. He's posting it as if he is a player....he'll be there...unless he's snapped it. Now that would be painful.
Ronald requires an operation and there's a fair chance that Erwin will be managing the team tomorrow. (with Sammy Lee's able assistance, of course ) It all depends on his op.
I feel kind of sad.... I should be packing the car ready to pick some young journalist up on the M25 and then heading to Arnhem damn those tickets!!
Well, we could still go... ...we could just pretend we went to the game. Ah well, I'm sure (desperately hoping) there'll be another chance to see Saints overseas!
Somewhere with a rather bigger ground than Vitesse's hopefully! Edit: Ajax would fit the bill nicely!
In that case I would very much like to hear... there's only one Erwin Koeman ring out at the GelreDome tomorrow evening. I think that would be nice.
Had never felt more confident. Saints playing a vastly inferior team in a Cup game. Leading 3-0 there was no way back for the minnows. As a fan I started making plans for the next round. No-one could see the final score ... Tranmere (0) 4 Saints (3) 3 Let's please not get cocky!
The advantage of the 2nd leg at home means that if they can grab a first half lead to nil, then their crowd could inspire them to have a real go at us and it could be a nervy night. If we can nick a goal, then that should kill the tie.
Oh absolutely. I mentioned that game to Tom this week. At half-time of that game, 3-0 up and living in the North West at the time, I invited all my Liverpool ST holding mates round for a BBQ on the Sunday for the quarter final v Liverpool (the winners played that Sunday live on TV).... I was still getting calls on the Sunday morning to ask if the BBQ was still going.ahead.
To be fair TSS, we sing to him most weeks..... "Erwin the Saints, go marching in...." * it's ok, I have my hat*
Last time I mentioned the Tranmere game, I was told it had never happened...so it was just a shared delusion. Early Saints goal, please, lads.
This is tougher than some are thinking. However I think the only way of stemming them is to attack them and not be too defensive. If we can nick an early goal or any goal at least it means they have to score 4 or more...........The last thing we need to do is to give them the time and room we gave them at times in the second half when we played them at home. If we do they will slaughter us. Somehow though I am confident we will not be making that mistake........I hope.
Proof that we were made of sterner stuff, my old mate and I hosted a pub get together which we'd planned at half time. We even had one of the stewards from the Tranmere game. We were both living in Liverpool at the time and decided we either had to face it or forever skulk in the shadows. Another reason to love beating Liverpool! The grief I will get if we lose this three goal lead will know no bounds. Currently in France. I may not return!
