Early in the season and the pitch was a disgrace to be fair but we should probably be seeing a team like that off a lot more comfortably over two legs if we are being honest.
RD got it spot on...he looks to have learned a load of lessons quickly. Have loved him from day one, and think he is turning into a good Tic boss. He has taught the midfield how to defend better in Europe
I actually totally agree with you about LG earning a starting place, but Venom has a fair point about strength up front.
Thought Izzy was one of our best players today, don't understand the criticism he's been getting the last few months. Boyata is a beast of a man, but needs to realise just because VVD can thread a ball through doesn't mean he can!! Get him to play simple with the ball and he could be a top player. VVD celebrated like a man who wants to play CL football....or possibly if we get it he can leave, either way was good to see the passion at the end. The Arab 3 are so ****ing unfit it's unreal!! Like to see Armstrong get a chance in the middle at some point to see if he can influence the game abit more. Tough decision on who to start upfront, simply we didn't need a goal they did. First hour was always gonna be about running your bollocks off then making way. If we'd been a goal down I would prefer to see Griffith come on then Shifty to grab a goal and change the game. Man Utd never started with their best 11, always kept one back as an impact sub. Finally the midfield 3 were excellent again, rarely gave ball away and never stopped running.
Not sure the word, "gentleman" should precede the word, "are", surely it would be "gentlemen" that precedes it? Anyway, no problem, happy to keep you right
