The most annoying thing is we sell our players for peanuts. Nani, rvp, Rafael all 3 not up to 10 million. Oh, not forgetting evra too. Though evra is no longer young but he is still better than everything we have at left back for now, though shaw looked a decent player in pre season. So nani, evra, rvp, Rafael all together not up to 12 million.
High wages though. If someone is on high wages it gets harder to sell them, and you don't want to be paying top-notch wages to backup players... In very simple terms every 20K a week equals around 1 million a year (approx 50 weeks a year), that's ignoring bonuses and appearance fees etc so it's actually a lot more. So someone on 100K costs you 5mil a year in wages, so if they're not contributing as much as you'd want you sell them even at a reduced rate. I think Nani signed a 5 year deal when Moyes was in charge, didn't he? Imagine 4 years' salary, it would be a huge expense, so that's why they end up getting sold relatively cheaply.
We do do out of respect for our players and their service. It allows them the chance to go to a better club and get comparable wages. We also don't need the money like some clubs.
United will always buy high (25% plus over value) and sell low (25% under value). That is the price you have to pay for being the biggest club around.
We always get the best out of them obviously but we don't even try to increase the fees. We simply don't need the money as we are run properly as both a lib and business. Lesser clubs have to sell and battle for top prices in order to survive as they are often run by Cowboys.
That's bollocks too. Why do you think de gea hasn't left yet?? Because we are trying to squeeze as much cash as possible. As we did with ronaldo. Everyone else has been sold for peanuts because they were either past it or just plain ****e. You're just trying to gloss over the fact that we are selling substandard players by making out we don't need the money. Which again is bollocks. We are a business first and foremost. You think we'd be selling the useless argie for a loss if he had a decent season? Simple fact is he was **** spat his dummy out so we make a loss.
The likes of Nani and Rafael have NEVER been good enough for Man Utd. The fact that they played so many games highlights the major weaknesses in your squad.
Because we don't want to sell de Gea. We clearly don't care about a fee as we are willing to lose him for free and pay him for another season. If money was an issue, he would be gone. The majority of players being sold are either long time servants, into their final year or simply not needed. None of these will command a huge fee and even if we could get more, like in Nani or Van persies case, we don't. We just don't need the money. Even with these low fees we make more than all our rivals domestically. Our revenues come from other, more sustainable sources. Which is better business.
So if I make a £5 bid on behalf of Swansea to sign Rooney, will you sell him to us for that price because you don't need the money?
We don't want to sell Rooney though. When we don't want to sell the player stays (As demonstrated many times with Rooney) or we get stupid money (as with Ronaldo). In 3 years Rooney may well go for free, or close to nothing.
We didn't get more because they were old and past it or ****. We got what they were worth. No we don't want to sell de gea. Because he is good. Therefore has a value. I also don't believe we will let him go for free next year. So your assumption is that we will be willing to lose 20m for him is bollocks.as soon as they offer 30m for him he will go or they do a deal with Ramos. We are a business businesses are designed to make money not chuck it away regardless.
At one time, both were the best in their respective positions in the league. Nani was arguable European best winger at his very best. Consistency and fitness were the issue for both players the past few seasons.
What?? Nani?? European best winger?? Ffs. What alternate universe? Lad you should have a been a scouser you're so deluded.
When he tore up the premier league ad Europe during that 18 month period. He was up there with the likes of Robben. Considering at the time we were one of the best sides in football, with only Barcelona above us, Nani's form warrented being in that bracket. Maybe your just getting forgetful in your old age? It wasn't even that long ago.
