the water cannon was used prior to any violence taking place according to eyewitness accounts. That is premature. That is not exhausting all the options available to them.

    correct?

you have yet to evidence my bigotry Hero or indeed my thickness. I must admit, I don't have a Gnvq in data comms, but do have some qualifications......qualifications that don't come get handed out because you can spit shine your boots adequately. As such, I suggest you look a little closer to home in your search for thick bigots.

Is that it? Seriously? You're going to try and turn things your way by using this guff as your argument? You're thicker than I thought <laugh>

Eyewitness accounts? What source is this please? Before you quote An Phoblacht, that doesn't count <laugh>

As for the rest of the drivel...(you normally use 3 dots, not 6, if you intended an ellipsis) well, bully for you. I'm sure the qualifications I have will ensure that I'm remunerated far more than you (this on top of my pension which I receive upon retiring from HM Forces) currently are. I'm probably on way more than you as it is while still serving. But that's by the by.

Now, back on topic. Source for the eyewitness accounts first of all if you don't mind. I'm using Sky News (who had cameras on the ground) as my eyewitnesses.

Secondly, would you as a manager of a situation, any situation, not cover ALL bases. This is relevant to anything.

    Thanks in advance <ok>

To be fair, I can't remember him ever winning an argument on here.

The nurses at his local A & E must get fed up stitching up his bleeding arse given how many times it's been ripped <laugh>

Crack on BigotBhoy, it's clear as day from this thread what you're all about.

Your half-assed attempts at veiling your bigotry are what you would expect from a complete and utter ******.

    But if the cap fits...

Holy Cross parish priest, Fr Gary Donegan, who was on the ground on Tuesday night, said people regarded the police tactics as inflammatory.

"People have been asking why did plastic baton rounds get deployed so early," he said.

"There is criticism from the moderate people. Yes, there were bricks being thrown, but was it necessary to deploy water cannon and plastic baton rounds?

"We are trying to promote normalisation of policing and there has been criticism that the response was disproportionate."

Mark Thompson, director of Relatives for Justice, warned that plastic bullets “do not protect vulnerable citizens and do not contribute to the resolving of the situations”.

“Over the course of the past three years they have emerged once again as the PSNI’s weapon of first resort,” he said.

for the record, I don't mean to brag, but I am smarter than you, and significantly richer than you. I couldn't care less about that to be honest but i know it'll sting you like a bitch.

    Oh well Hero.....unlucky chump.

You were finished as soon as you posted this little tickler, Webs <laugh>

In your own words, when bigots provoke a response, they shouldn't be surprised if and when they get one.

Well, Webs, as soon as the Catholics (or indeed anyone from any religion) start throwing ANYTHING at the at the law-enforcing, PSNI (who Catholics still perceive to be a Protestant force) to evoke a response, then you can also expect a surprise, yes?

It's been fun mocking you though...as usual <laugh>

    Pleasure's been mine <laugh>

You refused to talk about the trouble on the nights before the 12th. No condemnation of angry Protestant mobs?

    Says it all.

  16. This thread started badly (usual Medro WUM attempt), got worse and is now in the absolute pits (with Medro's views on the Loyalist rioting the other week being absolutely deflected now).

One funny section has been the views of Rangers fans on page 7 or 8 - The police were proportionate and laughing at the idea of a "small minority"

Funnily enough, you all thought the opposite in Manchester when no cannons and no rubber bullets were used.

Anyone abhorring violence as a result of an Orange parade should, perhaps, familiarise themselves with the origins of the order and the actions of the Peep o'day boys which gave birth to these preposterous parades - or indeed, the aftermath of the passing of The Act of Settlement in 1692 which is, really, what you are "celebrating"

I stated early on that the police are correct to use water cannons to break up rioters.

They would also save a lot of trouble by turning them on the marchers in the first place <ok>

Do you really believe that or are you just another in a long long line of people who say that when they know they are talking absolute cack?

I suspect you are one of the victory claimers.

    She does believe it.

SHe also believes that the OO is an "archaic biggoted (sic) institution" one day and "simply celebrating the religion from which they decend (sic)" the next...despite not knowing what religion that is.

    She also thinks that this sentence;

Means that the OO doesn't exclude other religions.

So I am not overly fussed that Pwesty thinks I had my arse handed to me. It probably means I acquitted myself fairly well.

Dev, you say that you agree with riot cops using water cannons, from your experience, do you think the approach used in Derry may have proven more beneficial under the circumstances? Other alternatives like kettling would have been even more of an own goal. snatching less so imo.

what criteria should be met before they are deployed?
