I hear it's more a case of Bruce angling for it? Tbh why not. It seems like we've got Blind playing at CB this season.
UNITED SEND REPS TO BARCA FOR PEDRO DEAL Manchester United have despatched representatives to Barcelona to finalise the signing of Spain forward Pedro, reports AS. The Old Trafford side are gearing up to sell Angel Di Maria to PSG and they will replace him with Pedro, whose first-team role at Barca diminished last season after the arrival of Luis Suarez from Liverpool. The winger’s mother revealed at the weekend that the 28-year-old is bound for England, and United are keen to get the deal tied up as soon as possible, although Barca want at least €30m for him. Just a striker and centre back needed now then
He'll be the striker as well dont you think? I can see our forward options being Rooney, Chica, Depay, Pedro, Wilson? Also see all sorts of false 9 stuff going on as well
Yep, I see a front three of Memphis, Rooney and Pedro. I would like to see Herrera just behind them and Carrick+Morgan behind him, leaves no place for Mata though
So many competitions though. And so many different types of opposition within each competition. For example the prem itself will have teams where you could play Morgan next to Herrera in central midfield with Mata as the AM.
Rafael in Lyon for medical. Read the following elsewhere and agree completely... Perhaps the biggest compliment one can pay him is he was utterly fearless when those around him were the opposite.
There have been times over the last two years when I felt he was the only player we had with true drive and passion, Rooney can go missing at times but Rafael is always totally committed.
Which quite often caused as many problems as it solved. The bottom line is he was a full back and when push came to shove wasn't a good enough defender, which was his job.
Am I missing something chaps, is this man making a comeback or something? please log in to view this image
We've got Willie, Willie, Willie Willie Morgan on the wing, on the wing.....................................................repeat indefinitely.
I agree, I just feel we have lacked that "playing for the shirt" factor in the last couple of years. Let's hope players like Darmian, Herrera, Morgan and Smalling can bring it back, I only name them because they are all action type players others could step up.
See, I would associate that tune with Jesper Olsen. The Willie Morgan tune I used was definitely by Bolton fans, I never saw WM play for United. Clearly I'm not as ancient as you are!!
Push came to shove the minority of the time though. For the majority he was decent enough. Certainly better than Valencia defensively. We've won titles with him as RB. Not saying he should be our first choice RB but in the season ahead he's good enough to backup Darmian. Depending on the opposition you could start him in certain games in the league, the CL and domestic cups and he'd be fine imo.
Really? I don't think he was. Consider who he replaced and then consider if he was good enough. He wasn't. He's not alone in that by the way because neither is Valencia, I can only hope that Darmian is better at his primary role, which is to defend.
"I want to thank Manchester United fans for all the love during those 8 years," "Since I signed with the club I lived incredible moments, after all were 8 years wearing the shirt of one of the biggest clubs of the world." "I also want to thank all employees who always treated me with great affection and gave me greater attention." "Thank you United Kingdom, I learned a lot in this country, as a player, and no doubt as a human being, lessons that I will keep for the rest of my life." "Thank you Sir Alex Ferguson for always believing in my work and for all the doors that you opened up to me. Now it's a new path, a new challenge, God bless me!" http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ted-star-Rafael-goodbyes-transfer-deal-struck I actually want to cry.
It's a shame he's gone. He was very good going forwards but too impetuous and ill disciplined in defence. Still a better option than Valencia though. Another one bites the dust.
This is true, but we can't have our cake and eat it. It's the same as when Fletcher went, a loyal servant from the Ferguson era but no longer good enough, what do we want to do, live in the past or move on and progress? Rafael was not good enough to be our right back, the fact no one went in for him and he's ended up at Lyon for £2.5million shows that vividly enough. He could have been back up right back, third or second choice, but he himself deserves to be playing some football so best he moved on. With everyone's good wishes.
