As funny as it is, its not too far off what Rodgers was picking. The guy is clueless

My worries for this game is that we have too many ex-Liverpool players playing for Stoke and would like to do some
    damage,However, we have better players.

He won't be able to get away with such cluelessness (such a word?) this year, if he's stinking up the joint then I expect FSG to show him the door!
Esp. if the likes of Klopp are still on the Dole!

I really hope he does not just go for Henderson and Milner in the middle with no Lucas or Can.

Anyone with half a brain will hope for a midfield trio of..

    --------------------- Can
    -------- Milner -------------- Hendo

And with the likes of Milner and Hendo knowing that they both can't bomb on all the time..
As Roy Castle would say, Discipline is what you need! (he did, didn't he?)

Because Gomez has not shown evidence against any opposition that he is capable of playing LB - never has played there and I refuse to base it off the back of preseason matches against the dross.

I agree that we shouldn't carry deadwood but unfortunately, the same does not apply to a certain few.

Moreno is a natural full back who is young - he needs to develop just as much as Gomez. Why is Rodgers so quick to dump certain players instead of others? Simple - because he has favourites.

Why has Lovren been given so much game time? Why was Sterling and Lambert included in the tour squad? Why hasn't Markovic or Sakho been given more game times? Why do we persist with Skrtel at RCB?

I disagree. I think Enrique is extremely poor defensively and not sure how he's built this rep. What I will say is that he's very good at shielding the ball.

But his positioning, concentration, marking are terrible - erratic on the ball but is capable of good things.

His pace was good at defending against pace. He had Walcott in his pocket because he said let's race if you want.

I'm expecting Milner to litterally just replace Gerrard in Rodgers plans.

  16. They're both **** defensively but Enrique can recover.

Will add, again, that I'm a fan of Moreno..
It can be said, but for a handful of games, he didn't prove capable of playing to a high level against top opposition..
He made mistakes early in the 14/15 season that he continued to make throughout.
Think the lad has loads of potential but if right now Gomez is a better fit then so be it, if and when he (Moreno) gets a chance to play, he needs to take it.. good old fashioned, if you play well, you stay in the team and I agree, there is not time for favouritism, and given the end of season review, he should know that the next person to leave should things not go well, will be him..

Sterling was included in the Tour Party because we wanted to force City's hand, it worked!
Lambert, by all accounts was a true professional in the way he conducted himself, so why not take him, esp. when there was no concrete offers for him at the time.
The only people that didn't go were those that have been told they have no future!

I've voted for a Liverpool win more through hope than anything else.

It'll be interesting to see how the new lads settle in and play.

Also Stoke have a lot of new players to bed in so they might be a bit uncertain as well.

Will Affelay make it through the game uninjured?

Will any of our players who Charlie Adam tries to tackle make it through uninjured.
