Kudos to Wenger for not wanting to be part of Mourinho's publicity stunt

Which one? That Ramires could/should have scored his header? Or that it's a friendly - which technically it was, but it definitely wasn't a friendly!

Just tell Mo on the sidelines that this was just a friendly, and those Chelsea fans pictured looking like they wanted to kill themselves as the game ran down.

At the end of the day, the game maybe doesn't have as much meaning as others, because it is just a one off, and the curtain raiser to the season, but nonetheless, it's still a trophy, it is counted as more than a friendly and is in fact counted as a 'competitive' game which is why all stats including winning the trophy count as official.

Arsenal play the most beautiful football to watch, but they some times pass the ball to death. Imagine that team with an Allan Shearer type goal getter...frightening <yikes>

Finally Wenger has managed to secure a win over Mr anti football. This was a huge game and it puts us on the front foot for the coming season ahead. Chelsea may claim it means nothing but it means Wenger and Arsenal have overcome the psychological hurdle that has plagued us for way too long. I am more hopeful for a real stab at the title this season than any other since 2005 and we have a seriously talented squad that has a great mix of talent and winning mentality. Can't even believe I'm saying that!

I thought Wenger should have walked in front of Mou and not shaked his hand rather than going behind him thou.

I think in some circumstances, given the long history between the two, sometimes it's just better to leave things be. I don't think they're ever going to get along both professionally and personally, so maybe it's for the best that they try to minimise any sort of interaction with each other.

True, but it's an accepted practice and should be observed. Nobody is asking them to go for a curry together (or share a bottle of wine }, just a brief shake and well played is enough.

In my opinion Mourinho shaking the Arsenal player's hands was just a publicity stunt as he knew the TV cameras were there. When was the last time you saw a manager waiting to shake the victorious player's hand after they've collected their trophy and medals ? By pulling his little stunt Mourinho knew the media would mention the non handshake rather than the game and result

Everything Mourinho does is geared for the press, he looks for any tiny advantage over his managerial opponents and he is good at it.

The elephant will get bigger as the season goes on if we don't get a top striker.

I loved him first time around, thought he added a bit of humour to the league and was quite witty. Now he just comes over as a frightened bitter little man.
