That's just conjecture on your part. But in terms of stature of clubs we're in the top 2/3. Anyway it's a minor argument in a much broader point I was making.

How is your stature in the top 2/3. Are players moving to you because you are a bigger club? Nope.

I would say there are 3 clubs who are miles ahead of the rest - Bayern, Real and Barca and then there are a lot of next tier clubs.

I won't deny you have a massive fanbase and a great history but in terms of pulling player power, the only way you are attracting players at the moment is ££££

Well in general terms of stature in world football, Man United is probably second only to Real in those stakes.
But right now, in a footballing sense, United and PSG are about on equal terms.

    This is silly.

If we are talking about team ranking, then United would struggle to be in the top 10 never mind top 3 or 4. In terms of stature of the club then United is on par with the likes of Bayern, Barca and Real. Players may currently prefer the likes of Bayern or Barca to United because they have a better team. Yes, money reflect stature too but fan base and history (titles, trophies etc) count too.

Pulling power? I have no idea how you equate that to what I originally posted. You seem to be going off on your own point here. Going by your logic, Real Madrid are no longer a top club bcos they havent won anything in a year.

As Bodanki says, in terms of stature United is arguably one of the top 2 (I would say it could be 3) clubs in the world. Any player (who comes with great expectations) who quits after a year bcos he's had a difficult year at such a club, demonstrates a lack of character. It's poor show tbh.

Yes you're global brand and history is great. Maybe i got the wrong end of the stick with Stature.

Footballing terms though Real is a powerhouse, it has world class players and its consistently challenging for Champions League and League titles.

United are more akin to PSG at the moment. The only thing thats even keeping you guys at a footballing level between yourselves and PSG is that you play in the PL and PSG play in the French league. In terms of players i rate theirs higher than yours and in terms of their CL chances and so do the bookies.

So if its not the players he's playing with and its not the chance of trophies what else can Man U offer except its name considering PSG can pay what they want in wages?

As for his lack of character for moving, he actually had a tough time at Real to begin with and stayed and played through it so to basically assassinate his character for daring to leave United to go to PSG is something i find unfair and would only have expected UIR to do.

I'm not debating whether PSG are on level with United. Personally I think they're nowhere near, i.e. I see them as no better than Man City. I agree that there are a number of factors to draw him to PSG though including the city and possibly the money (is it more I dont know) and couple that with league titles. BUT all of that is irrelevant to him actually leaving United after a year which is really my point. Actually leaving a big club after one year. I've followed his career all the way from portugal when he was an out and out LWF. When he moved to Madrid he didnt have a difficult first year. He played well (not world class) for his first season and I think playing in the CL and winning a trophy in his first season are perhaps sweeteners regardless. And whatever way you cut it, he was a regular for Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world.

On the other hand he's had a truly tough year at United. Lets face it, he hasnt had a good game since October. He's been heavily criticised in the press. And he's facing competition for his position. What I will say in his defence is that when he's on the pitch he gives 100%. I've seen him hound, press, track back and go looking for the ball. In terms of attitude on the pitch I cant fault him. But to throw the towel in after a year is just a poor effort on his part. He wasnt just any signing. He came with a big price tag and with a big reputation. In sport, you kind of expect players to prove ppl wrong. I'll give you Ronaldo back in 2006 as an example of what I'm getting at.

This is a very long winded way to say: currently United haven't got a good team (not even as good as PSG?) but in terms of global stature United are still amongst the top 2. <ok>

Are you glad to see the back of the most expensive flop in PL history?

I won't be surprised if you step up the chase for a cash plus De Gea deal for Bale this week <ok>

£15m is hardly expensive. Also dont understand how you can class a player as a flop after one season?

It had to be you two to reply <doh>

I was hoping it would have been UiR :)

As for Di Maria, I don't think he ever wanted to sign for you, he always wanted the move to PSG. Will be interesting to see how he performs for them.

FFS I thought so as well <grr> Dont worry, despite saying so, he'll still be along in a minute to bite.

If he had stayed I think he would have had a very good season. As it is, he will do very well at PSG imo
