How do you know ? Did you see the game on stream,or were you there,or eating candy floss and no idea how well we played.
Weird that you would say that. I would have any of Joel Robles, McCarthy, Barkley, Ledson, Oviedo, Naismith, MIrallas, Kone, Cleverley at leeds. All of which played for Everton in that game....
Well spotted.... I didn't watch the game.... I call it the Eire method of arriving at a conclusion...... All my information was gleaned from the report from the Mail on line which talks of a very weakened Everton team... Then I added my opinion that Everton under Martinez are about to be in a relegation scrap.
So you got your info from a tory rag ? this just gets worse The youngest player on the pitch yesterday was young Cook,3-4 years younger than most of the Everton kids The same Everton kids who won the developement league when these lads played in it a couple of years back. All are now Everton first team squad players some played Europa league last season and 1 played in the Mersey derby and 1 loaned out at Wigan.Everton put out a team that on paper should have beaten us as there older 1st team players should have been better than ours, and their kids were supposed to be better than our kids.
The fact remains that Everton put out a very under-strength side, and they were pretty poor on the day. We played well at times, but you could clearly see it was a pre-season game, they never moved out of second gear.
Not checked the total average ages of the teams yesterday but think there is a better than 50/50 chance that the youngest team out there was playing in Leeds yellow
Everton fans seem to think most of their first team is playing today. They also think they are getting relegated......
Well if thats true and Barkley,McCarthy,Cleverley,Oviedo,Naismith and Mirallas are all reserves then expect them to win the league with a squad that good that all them internationals can't get a game.
I understand we could only beat what was in front of us but before we all start knocking one out let's read something written by a white tinted glasses wearing reporter shall we. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....ews/report-leeds-united-2-everton-0-1-7388708 From Blackpool prom my view seems to be as clear as the one at Cheshire towers?
Barkley seemed to drop off towards the end of last season and it appears a number of people who see him more than you and me think he might not quite be as good as he was potentially going to be... Colins fault!
Barkley is a young lad and like all young lads, tend to tire and slow down at the end of a long season.Like Delph,Milner,Lennon all did at the same age.
Don't be shooting the messenger. But our near enough entire team of young lads will have to play 46 league games so that's worrying.
So every other team you make allowances for due to age but our 17 year olds you think should play like seasoned professionals.
Of course they will find it hard, maybe too hard for top 6,but I'm sure you will allow for that and not crusify them if they fall short.
Yes we can only beat what is infront of us but comparing them to the outfit we beat 16-0 last pre-season is a comment entirely designed to create negativity and its needless. Fact of the matter is a hell of a lot of players that played in that game for Everton are very much premiership quality and they were mixed with some younger players that are in their first team squad. No one has said we are gonna win the league from it, but you still take the positives from games. You seem to only ever take negatives from games and then when there aren't any you talk **** about how the opposition are the worst team in the world.
You'd rather have some of their 1st team like Howard, Stones,Coleman, Distin, Jagielka, Barry, Osman, Lukaku etc
Not disputing that, doesn't mean a lot of the players they played weren't of a premier league standard.
Morning troops. Yesterday we played against an under strength team with a side getting used to a new way of playing. We won 2-0 & played some decent stuff. Compare that with last pre-season when we had Hockmadoodlegandi putting together a side that won 16-0 against aside that would have struggled in the Vauxhall Conference. We're already looking better off Rosler has already said he intends to rotate regularly. So he's already aware of the need to avoid bur out. So let's put all this negativity on the backburner until we have something to genuinely whine about
