The point Bob was trying to make was a stupid one. Paying to watch football and paying to shoot lions. Really! Why should Walt the cocks life be worth more than the many animals he has killed?
Not just aresholes with guns that make me angry. Anyone who thinks killing animals for their own sick kicks makes me angry. Any animal.
That's a seperate issue entirely. As a member of the human race, would you honestly value a member of another species beneath another? Pointlessly killing animals is just that, pointless and daft. But if it was a choice of saving the life of a human being or an animal, you'd choose the human being. For the second time, Bob's point wasn't literal. Both things are something you can opt to do, neither are mandatory.
Don't tell me what I'd do in that situation. People die trying to save pets just as people die trying to save family members. If I take your point literally every human being is worth saving over an animal. Depends very much on the human being I'd say. Again Bob's point was a ****ing stupid one. That hasn't changed.
Well I'm not telling you what to do, I'm telling you what I'd expect you to do because if you didn't, you'd be culpable for the death of a human being. People do dive in to save pets because of attatchment and love, but what would you do if you had the choice to save the dog you love or the baby you just had? Would you choose to save a lion or an elderly woman you never met? If there's a dog and a baby trapped in a car on a hot day and you smash the glass, whose welfare do you check up on first? A human's actions through their course of life make them either more or less valuable in society. It does not make them less valuable to the species. No other animal on Earth would consider another member of their species less significant than another, we are no different. While the man is clearly a bit of a knob for shooting a lion, the reaction to it and the stuff people are saying to him is just unacceptable.
I judge people not to how they are towards other humans but also how they are to other species. People who torture and kill dogs/cats/lions/elephants etc I judge to be be not nice people who I wouldn't save to go on and torture and kill any more animals.
That's mental. So you judge people on how much they love animals, as opposed to how they treat other human beings? That's one of the most nonsense pieces of **** I've ever heard. A love of animals is a nice thing to have; it's good that some people, myself included, appreciate the world around them and treat other living things with compassion, but I certainly don't think it's their most important trait, certainly not a primary point of judgement.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...roaching-open-car-window-seconds-pounced.html Lion kills a woman for no reason, what a ****ing ****er. Absolute scum these lions are.
I'm not sure, ask the poor lady who got torn apart in her car the other week by a lion, she knows the answer
Really? This one is a conversation point - would you be good enough to keep us all up-to-date with the others as they happen? I would have thought you had a better defence than this.
Yes, there is a failing of protective administration, but weak or bad people will succumb to market demands and the dentist (and his like) created a demand for someone to make their blood lust possible. That is what was being discussed.
I'm not condoning or trying to defend the man's actions, far from it. I simply don't like the fact that one minute people are ignorant of animal cruelty but as soon as a famous person shows an interest or outrage everybody jumps on the bandwagon, it's pathetic. If I see that lion walking down my street I'll ****ing chin it. I've already set fire to his scrubland and drawn rude graffiti on the side of his cave. He should know that our species isn't to be ****ed with. I will be starting a media campaign to have him go on the Conan O Brian show to answer for himself.
I know a neighbour who goes grouse shooting. I don't like it but I don't make any criticism because I know he couldn't take it and it'd be the last time probably we spoke. Basically he's an insecure ****head and deep down many who get pleasure from killing are probably like that.
Bit of a slippery slope that. I don't agree with hunting for sport because it's decadent, cruel, unnecessary and pointless. Hunting for food and trade is fine by me and I would encourage it in certain situations because it serves a utilitarian purpose. The hunter who killed the lion is an arsehole but his life is worth more than the many animals he has killed simply because he is a human and humans are at the top of the food chain. That doesn't mean we have free rein to mistreat animals and destroy the planet but anthropocentricism is the widely accepted norm all across the planet.
