    From BBC's Website:
Bloody 'ell - slipping behind Faroe Islands....dream of a major tournament qualification for Wales just seems further and further away :(

If we can't rank better than the Faroe Islands then really, it's about time we either forget international competition, or seriously ream out everybody involved in our national team program - management, players, the works. This is just not acceptable; it's shameful and an embarrassment.

It's a bit of a joke, and it doesn't matter what pot we're in. If we're good enough to qualify from "pot six" we're good enough to qualify from "pot five". Problem is, we're not at present. Sad, but true.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when a Romanian programmer can work things out properly and FIFA can't. Why don't they just get this guy to do all their ranking work? FIFA - what a joke.

That programmer could probably do a more efficient job than Blatter man, says a lot.

Wales are a joke, you will not see anything achieved until there is a complete overhaul of the FAW, and don't expect anything from Speed!.................

We can count ourselves lucky. Imagine if Speed had come here, as was originally planned. There would have been no Brendan, no play-off final and no Premier League.

To be blunt, who cares ? I certainly don't ! Wales football are a joke ATM run by someone hopelessly out of his depth backed by an organisation of old men who are utterly useless.

Whilst I am a very loyal Welshman , I have never found it easy to support the Welsh National team. Not so much due to the appalling quality on show , but more to do with the amatuerish nature of the FAW which filters down through the managers and players.

It is good for the players who represent their country (especially if they are youngsters) , but apart from myself supporting the swans players who may from time to time play for the national squad , I have no burning desire to support without question the national team. Sad I know , but true from my perspective.

The rankings are a joke, the Faroes have lost consistently 5-0 or so over the last 4 years when Wales haven't lost by more than 3 goals in that time and the Faores got 50% of their points from one match against Estonia.

That said being 6th seed is not so bad a result for us as we will be guaranteed a 6-team group with a tie against a 5th seed that will be winnable home and away.

For a time I loved supporting the Welsh team, back when we actually had a squad that had an identify, worked as a team and showed a sign of national identity. A side that contained outwardly proud Welshmen like Speed, Coleman, Hartson and the like along with the silo mentality of Savage. When Toshack took over and we lost so many experienced heads (some naturally, others because Tosh was a knob) the squad lost it's identity and hasn't recovered. Sadly I think it will take something quite remarkable now to instill that into the squad once again.

What could have done it was the U-21's making the euro finals the other year. Perhaps instead of blooding the kids in the full team we should have let then have an all out assault on that level, build then together as a unit.

Agree that having the under21s as the national team full stop would be good, also getting rid of speed IMO as he is useless, we already have the best man for the job in Flynn, he wasn't given a chance!

the most disapointing thing i have found is the growing number of players who claim injury rather than play for their country in friendlies (which in one way i can understand as there are far too many of them)

I am very disappointed in what i hear about the Welsh national squad not just on this board but in general. "Who Cares" "they are ****" "whats the point". The point is, no matter what your opinions are on certain players pulling out, the way the team is run through the FAW, opinions on Speed they are there representing OUR COUNTRY!!! and we should be behind them 100% every bloody game!!!

Get the stadium full (even if it is the Legoland or the Liberty)....give the players that are playing the support they deserve and hell you never know bit of confidence goes a long way and we will start winning more games

If the Swans get a tuning or 2 next season we all going to stop supporting them? NO so why are we so willing to do it to our national squad?

The point is Dan that the welsh clubs are developing year on year, we seem to be going backwards with the national team , the FAW are utterly useless and are not doing anything to encourage people to come to games, we are served dross on the pitch not helped by speed and tossack before, the game plan is a shambles and people will not pay to see crap , I certainly will not !

Even when there is a big game the FAW cannot get it right by over selling tickets, making the games far to expensive and not generating interest in the games!

I am all for Wales in every sport but football because of the way it's put forward the way the FAW treat people like idiots, and the fact that no matter what happens we will never qualify for anything until fundamental changes are made.

I don't think anyone would argue if you said "Cardiff & Swanseas respective set-ups are more professional and better equipped than the national teams." Lack of resources is a huge thing... but that being said the organisation is a joke.
