Only one out on loan at the moment - Stephen Arthurworrey. The big man came on as a half time sub for Yeovil and within 5 minutes scored from a short range header. please log in to view this image Yeovil, on a pre-season tour in Cornwall, ran out 4-0 winners against Callington Town. I don't think our squad is deep enough to loan many players out this season. This thread could be a quiet one this year.
Magnus Norman has gone on a season long loan to Hayes and Yeading United. please log in to view this image Given that they are in the Conference South League and I’ve no idea why the rules permit this, but they seemed to last season, I assume he can also play for the U21s.

Kostas Mitroglou came on as a sub for Benfica last night. But they lost 1-0 in the Super Cup to Sporting Lisbon, who had a little help from Bryan Ruiz. Benfica: Júlio César, Nélson Semedo, Lisandro Lopez, Jardel, Sílvio, Fejsa, Samaris (Mitroglou, 71’), Talisca (Pizzi, 57’), Gaitán, Ola John (Gonçalo Guedes, 80’), Jonas Sporting: Rui Patrício, João Pereira, Paulo Oliveira, Naldo, Jefferson, Adrien, João Mário, Carrillo (Gelson Martins, 92’), Bryan Ruiz (Rúben Semedo, 85’), Téo Gutiérrez (Carlos Mané, 69’), Slimani Link to match report: http://www.portugoal.net/club-news/260-sporting-get-an-early-return-on-their-jorge-jesus-swoop
And here’s a round up for the rest of the lads on loan: "Liam Donnelly made his professional debut on Saturday as Crawley Town kicked off their Sky Bet League Two campaign with a 1-1 draw at Oxford United. A Gwion Edwards header put the visitors in front 10 minutes into the second half, but Oxford levelled shortly after through Danny Hylton. Elsewhere in the division, Stephen Arthurworrey played the whole game as Yeovil Town fought back from two goals down, only to lose 3-2 at Exeter City. Tom Nichols’ penalty and a David Wheeler finish put the Grecians in control of proceedings in the first half, but Town fought back after the restart through Marc Laird and a spot-kick from Matthew Dolan. But the home side had the final say as Will Hoskins marked his debut with the winning goal with just six minutes remaining. In the Vanarama Conference South, Magnus Norman made his competitive debut for Hayes & Yeading, who were beaten 4-3 at home by Whitehawk. Things started well for the hosts and they were two goals up inside the opening 24 minutes courtesy of an Elliott Benyon goal and a spot-kick from Fulham Academy graduate Ismael Ehui. Whitehawk’s Arnaud Mendy was sent off after receiving a second yellow card as he gave away the penalty, but the man advantage lasted just a couple of minutes as Evans Kouassi was also sent for an early bath after he was punished for kicking out. Jake Robinson pulled one back for the Brighton-based side, and a stoppage time strike for either side from Luke Williams and Sergio Torres made the score 3-2 going into half-time. The visitors flew out of the blocks after the break, though, and won the game courtesy of two quickfire goals from Danny Mills. In the Barclays Premier League, Maarten Stekelenburg was beaten twice as Southampton drew away to Newcastle United. Saints went ahead at St James’ Park when Graziano Pelle headed in midway through the first half, but goals from Papiss Cisse and debutant Georginio Wijnaldum either side of the interval turned the game on its head. Shane Long restored parity on 79 minutes with a header from Dusan Tadic’s cross, as the two sides were forced to settle for a point.”
Last night’s action for the boys out on loan: "Stephen Arthurworrey was named in the starting XI as Yeovil Town lost 3-0 at home to Queens Park Rangers in the First Round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday. Sebastian Polter raced clear to open the scoring for the Sky Bet Championship side after 15 minutes and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas doubled the lead soon after. Nedum Onuoha lashed in a third 10 minutes into the second half to seal victory for Rangers against their League Two opponents. In the same competition, Liam Donnelly played the full 90 minutes as Crawley Town went down to a 2-0 defeat away to Peterborough United in the Capital One Cup First Round on Tuesday. Conor Washington opened the scoring after just two minutes when he converted Harry Anderson’s right-wing cross. League Two Crawley almost levelled, but Matt Harrold headed against the post, before Marcus Maddison made it 2-0 just after the break. In the Vanarama Conference South, Magnus Norman helped 10-man Hayes & Yeading United to a 2-0 win away to 10-man Truro City. Norman was called into action early on, first beating away Cody Cooke’s long-range effort low at his near post and then blocking Isaac Vassell’s follow-up. Ismael Ehui then put the visitors in front from the spot and he grabbed his second four minutes into the second half with an unstoppable shot. Harry Grant was sent off for Hayes but they held on to secure victory”
Only goal scoring Mitrog had a decent weekend this time out: Stephen Arthurworrey played the full 90 minutes as a late goal condemned Yeovil Town to a 1-0 defeat by West Country rivals Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday. Matty Dolan was sent off for the Glovers at Huish Park on 65 minutes for a second bookable offence, and Rovers made their man advantage count just minutes before the end when Ellis Harrison powered an effort into the back of the net. Liam Donnelly didn’t have any better luck elsewhere in the division as Crawley Town were beaten 2-1 at home by AFC Wimbledon. The Reds took the lead when Gwion Edwards headed in shortly after the half hour mark, but the visitors drew level six minutes into the second half Adebayo Akinfenwa when netted with a header of his own. And it was the Dons who had the final say as Andy Barcham scored with quarter of an hour remaining to take all three points back to London. In the Barclays Premier League, Maarten Stekelenburg was beaten three times as Southampton had an afternoon to forget as they hosted Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off. A brilliant Romelu Lukaku header put the Toffees ahead midway through the first half, and he had his second on the stroke of half-time when he finished from the edge of the box. Ross Barkley then added some gloss to the scoreline late on. In Portugal, Kostas Mitroglou scored his first Benfica goal to open the floodgates as a late rally saw them defeat Estoril 4-0 in their first league game of the campaign. Mitroglou got in between the two centre-backs to power a downward header into the corner on 74 minutes, before a Jonas brace – the first from the penalty spot – inside four minutes killed the game as a contest. Nelsinho then added a fourth in the 89th minute as Benfica went straight to the top of the Primeira Liga.
No doubt who is the hero and who the villain this weekend: "Stephen Arthurworrey scored a goal and claimed an assist as Yeovil Town fought back from two goals down to beat Luton Town 3-2 at Huish Park on Saturday. Craig Mackail-Smith had put Luton ahead with just four minutes played when he smashed in a fine dipping volley, and Paul Benson tapped in to double the lead quarter of an hour later. But Arthurworrey reduced the deficit with a thumping header before half-time, and made the equaliser when Ryan Bird converted his low cross just after the hour mark. The big centre-back was heavily involved in the winner, too, as he ran half the pitch and saw his pass diverted into the path of Bird who found the far corner. The win moved Yeovil out of the Sky Bet League Two relegation spots, much to the delight of Arthurworrey. “It’s excellent – it’s the start of the season for us basically as it was our first three points which were much needed,” he told the Glovers’ YouTube channel. “The boys showed a lot of fight and you could see that we wanted to win that game.” Elsewhere in the division, Crawley Town secured an impressive 3-0 win at Cambridge United, although Liam Donnelly was sent off with nine minutes remaining after picking up a second yellow card. By that point the visitors were already two goals to the good courtesy of Roarie Deacon’s brace, with Gwion Edwards tapping in late on to sew up the win. In the Barclays Premier League, Maarten Stekelenburg kept a clean sheet as Southampton left Watford with a point after drawing 0-0. Etienne Capoue had the game’s best chance when he headed over, but a draw was probably a fair result from a match that lacked any real spark. In Portugal, Kostas Mitroglou played the full 90 minutes but was unable to prevent Benfica slipping to a 1-0 defeat at Arouca, with Roberto’s third minute strike proving the difference between the sides.”

Good news, I think. It's a good opportunity for him to get some first team experience and, hopefully, improve as a player. This suggests that the signing of Lewis on loan doesn't so much mean that Kit doesn't rate Joronen, it just means he doesn't think he's ready yet.

Meanwhile, at the weekend - "Jesse Joronen helped Stevenage claim a point on his debut away at Dagenham & Redbridge in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday. The Finland international was left with no chance as the home side went ahead through Ashley Hemmings' fine strike just before the half hour mark, but Teddy Sheringham’s men earned a share of the spoils through Tom Hitchcock’s 74th minute equaliser. Elsewhere in the division, Stephen Arthurworrey was unable to prevent Yeovil Town from slipping to a 2-0 defeat at Oxford United. A goal in either half from Danny Hylton and Callum O’Dowda did the damage, as Yeovil dropped to 21st in the standings. In the Barclays Premier League, Maarten Stekelenburg was relatively untroubled as Southampton claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over Norwich City at St Mary’s on Sunday. The Canaries had Steven Whittaker sent off after just half an hour for two bookable offences, and the hosts took advantage at the end of the first half through Graziano Pelle’s near post finish. Dusan Tadic then netted twice in four second half minutes to wrap up victory for the Saints, who moved into the top half of the table. In Portugal, Kostas Mitroglou played 90 minutes as a trio of late goals earned Benfica a 3-2 home win over Moreirense. The visitors were on course for a surprise victory courtesy of Rafael Martins’ first half effort, but goals from Raul Jimenez and Andreas Samaris in the 75th and 76th minutes turned the game on its head. Moreirense then equalised through Ramon Cardozo’s 84th minute strike, only for Jonas to net the winning goal moments later to settle the contest."
The Club have confirmed that Larnell Cole has joined Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town on loan until 3rd January 2016. please log in to view this image
Larnell Cole made his Shrewsbury Town debut as the Midlands outfit won 2-1 at Barnsley in Sky Bet League One on Saturday. The visitors took the lead when Mark Ellis scrambled home a Liam Lawrence corner from a few yards out. Cole then entered the fray in the 16th minute, but the hosts were level on 38 when Sam Winnall slotted home. Cole was booked just after the break but the Shrews grabbed the winner in the 89th minute, Jordan Clark’s deflected effort finding the net as Town secured their first league victory of the season. In the same division, Stephen Arthurworrey and Yeovil Town let a two-goal lead slip as they were beaten 4-2 at home to Morecambe. Yeovil led 2-0 thanks to Harry Cornick’s shot and Omar Sowunmi's header either side of Shaun Jeffers' dismissal. But Aaron Wildig hooked in on 64 minutes and Andrew Fleming poked home to level soon after. Lee Molyneux then finished off a quick counter-attack, before substitute Kevin Ellison headed in the fourth.
According to The Star: "Sheffield United will resurrect their interest in Dan Burn when the emergency loan window opens on Wednesday. Burn had been set to join Nigel Adkins’ side from Fulham before the deadline for permanent signings last week but the transfer stalled due to an undisclosed contractual issue. But with both clubs determined to push the deal through, United hope to unveil the defender later this month. Burn and his representative are also thought to have signalled their approval when Bramall Lane’s hierarchy were granted permission to open talks." As I said before, Dan is clearly not happy at being kicked down the pecking order.
The list is now quite long, although not anywhere near Chelsea’s humongous catalogue of loans: “Larnell Cole played 87 minutes on Saturday as Shrewsbury Town claimed a 1-0 win at Southend United. Nathaniel Knight-Percival headed in from Liam Lawrence’s free-kick in the 56th minute, and the Shrews could have won by a greater margin were it not for the heroics of Shrimpers goalkeeper Daniel Bentley. Shrewsbury leapfrog their opponents into 15th in Sky Bet League One courtesy of the win. In League Two, Jesse Joronen helped Stevenage to a 2-2 draw at home to York City. Eddie Nolan gave the visitors a first half lead, but Stevenage turned the game around though Chris Whelpdale and Charlie Lee. Luke Summerfield equalised for City but the hosts could have won it with four minutes remaining when they were awarded a penalty, only for Scott Flinders to pull off a save to keep out Brett Williams’ spot-kick. Elsewhere, Stephen Arthurworrey played 90 minutes as Yeovil Town drew 1-1 with AFC Wimbledon at Huish Park. Ryan Bird put the Glovers in front on 26 minutes, but Adebayo Akinfenwa popped up with a header towards the end of the game to earn his side a point. The result moves Yeovil out of the relegation places, five points behind Joronen’s Stevenage. Liam Donnelly saw 73 minutes of action as 10-man Crawley Town were soundly beaten 4-0 at Mansfield Town. Nathan Thomas netted the game’s first goal just before the break, before Mitchell Rose doubled the lead shortly after the restart. Gwion Edwards was dismissed for a late challenge moments later, and two goals in as many minutes from Matt Green and Craig Westcarr completed the rout. In the Premier League, Maarten Stekelenburg kept a clean sheet in Southampton’s dour goalless draw at West Bromwich Albion. It was their third stalemate of the campaign – a result which leaves them sitting 11th in the standings. Fernando Amorebieta made his second debut for Middlesbrough and grabbed an assist in their 2-0 triumph over MK Dons at the Riverside. Stewart Downing broke the deadlock with a lovely curling effort on 70 minutes after being picked out by Amorebieta, who had replaced Ben Gibson shortly after the restart. David Nugent’s first Boro goal then sewed things up, as the Teesiders moved up to third in the table. In the Scottish Premiership, Adam Taggart made his Dundee United debut in their 2-1 home defeat by Kilmarnock. Kallum Higginbotham put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot a minute before half-time, but Billy McKay restored penalty with a spot-kick of his own. Killie nabbed the points, though, when Kevin McHattie rifled in from the edge of the penalty box. On Friday, Kostas Mitroglou grabbed a brace as Benfica claimed a 6-0 win at home to Belenenses. The Greek striker netted either side of Jonas’ two goals, and Nicolas Gaitan and Anderson Talisca added some gloss to the result. Mitroglou played 66 minutes before being replaced by Raul Jimenez. In Ligue 2 in France, Ange-Freddy Plumain came on in stoppage time as Red Star claimed an impressive 2-0 win away to Le Havre. Former Fulham man Hameur Bouazza put the visitors in front on 25 minutes, and Anatole Ngamukol doubled the lead just after the hour mark.”
