Hotspur FC have no connection to Tottenham Hotspur. I know that Arsenal fans struggle with things like name changes and moving across London, but we didn't do any of that stuff, I'm afraid.

THFC were not the original Hotspur club though, that accolade goes to Hotspur FC from South London, who laid claim to the Hotspur name in 1878, because they played at Syon Park, the Ancestoral home of Sir Henry Percy, The duke of Northumberland and the inspiration for 'Harry Hotspur' in Shakespeare's play. The cricket club formed in 1880, which then became a football club in 1882 unwittingly chose the name Hotspur FC not knowing that it had already been claimed and were told to change it by the original Hotspur FC, hence the name change to THFC.

We're not like Liverpool, The People's Club, formed by a Tory Mayor landlord after kicking out Everton and trying to jack the rent up by 200%. We didn't change our name from Everton Athletic or switch from blue to red and our whole first XI wasn't foreign mercenaries.
