109-2 as I sit in the bar of the County Hotel in Lytham St Annes, having missed all the play so far while driving up north for a family wedding tomorrow. Looks like I missed a cracking day!

My mate was there yesterday as a guest of a well known beer brand... He had a cracking day out.

Edgebaston is always good, my fav test ground for atmosphere, but of course it helps enormously if England are doing well. I wont be a guest of any particular beer brand FLT but i intend to sample the bitter on offer. Meeting up with my son too, and havnt seen him for couple of months plenty to celebrate, just need England to come to the party !

If England can by some miracle bat for the rest of today and establish a lead of 300+ we will win comfortably. If we get bowled out for less than 300 it'll be tight but we should still win.

Root gone for 63. Bit of a daft shot sadly.

    182-6.

As I said it is our innings that will be interesting. No good skittling a side if it happens to you. So far a lead of 52, I think a lead of a 100 would be disappointing, but 150 would be okay going into the 2nd innings and a lead of 200 (with 6 wickets already down) would be excellent and match winning.

Atrocious batting from England, blowing it big time.

Bit harsh. Everyone thought that was plumb.

I think we'd give an arm for a 150 lead right now Fran. Possibly one of Lyth's arms, as they don't seem an awful lot of use on the field.

When you have 2 reviews in hand and you lose your 7th wicket it's worth a shot.

In hindsight. At the time all the commentators said "no, don't review that"...

Nope - most of the dismissals have come from seamers and have nicked wide ones to slips/keeper.
