People have different opinions and thats why this is a debating forum...

Whilst I don't think there's any reason to be moaning (just yet), there is reason to be concerned.

The club has brought in good players (or rather, players that should be good). The potential problems lie in the fact that everything is so hush-hush about the deals. I'm not saying everything about them should be public, but the fans should have an rough indicator of how much money has been spent, so that they can tell whether the Carroll money is being put back into the club or whether Mike Ashley pocketed it, and lied again.

Ultimately it is Ashley's club, and, whether we like it or not, he's perfectly entitled to take the money from the club (whether it's the Carroll money, or the money freed up by players leaving/TV Income/Season tickets/etc.), and he's also entitled to not tell fans the truth about it, but developing a better relationship with the fans, even if it's only in the form of clearer communication, certainly wouldn't hurt him at this time.

 

Quality someone now wants to be a moanthon.

I specficially said there's no reason to moan at the moment - But we also shouldn't pretend that everything is all rosey, because currently we don't know what's going on.

Doing well but waiting to pan out before I can decide if the window has been utilised correctly?

 

I can understand people being concerned but I blame alot of this on the twitter ITK's. They drop a name and they make it sound convincing, remember tiote signing, it was completely out the blue. I wouldn't be surprised if we woke up one morning and we'd signed someone no one had expected or we had been linked to. I also wouldnt be surprised if we never signed anyone else like but that's besides the point.
Plenty time left to bring in a couple of more players. A striker is top of the list.

At the end of the day throughout transfer windows we have good times (like when we signed 3 players in 8 days) and we have bad times (like right now), but you can only truly judge how successful a window is when its finished. Remember 05 when we were moaning the lack of incomings then everyone ended up happy when Owen and Solano signed.
