I see you have conveniently replaced O Shea with Bramble? I know why you did it but it hasn't worked. You have also conveniently not commented on Enrique to Liverpool which you know is a cert now that Clichy has gone to Man City. Tiote - looks a canny player but has the worst discipline in the EPL. How many games did he actually miss last season? Was it double figures? That stops him form being a top player and for that reason, along with his lack of goals in comparison, I can see Gardener being the better player. Also, I saw quite a few howlers from Tiote that cost you goals. Jonas is just ****e. Simple as. I musy have watched him on at least a dozen occassions last year both live and on TV and I cant remember one occassion where I thought that was good. He is by far the busiest footballer on the pitch that does absolutley **** all to influnece a game. Woeful and I'd be gutted if he was on our bench, let alone the team. Gyan is streets ahead of Ba in football ability but you are correct about goals per game. Ba is probably the better pound for pound goal scorer but we havent finished shopping yet. Our next signing could be a top finisher but yours will be another Leon Best? Thats why we are so far ahead of you these days. The roles have reversed. The fact you were haggling for Taylor, and average player at best, is testimony to that and please **** off with the red herring argument "they wanted £10m for him", as thats just a load of ****e. They wanted more than the paltry £1m you offered but nowhere near the £10m you are all suggesting.
Different teams need different things. Last season we were badly short of experience, I think we have addressed that. Now that ****ing left wing.....well, that's another story.
Isnt EVERY player a club buys technically someone elses reject? What a hapless argument. O Shea, Brown, Larsson, Gardener and Vaughan. I know exactly what we are getting from these players. Proven EPL quality. Can you barcodes say the same about Cabaye, Marveaux and Arfa? You have seen one of them 4 times live and had to rely on you tube to see the other 2. They could be world beaters or they could be total ****e. Its a complete gamble. Hardly inspiring is it?
I agree about Jonas he carries the ball well and I think he makes Enrique look better than he is by the space he creates, but he is a winger whose supply is poor and doesn't score many. Gyan played well but suffered when we had injuries and created very little for him while at the same time flogging him every week up front on his own.
Tiote missed 5 games through suspension, one was a red card at Swansea that never ever was. And he made one mistake that cost us a goal at home to Blackburn. You can't compare Gardner to Tiote, two totally different roles. You should be comparing Gardner to Cabaye or Ben Arfa, the latter I can see being the better player. Jonas scored 3 last season, created about 5, isn't the best, but he does help the defence in bringing the ball away, he also won the penalty against you. As for the £10m for Taylor, that's what was reported by Sky and twitter journalists. So far ahead of us? There's that statement again, 1 point isn't so far ahead, and you went into hiding when we beat you after shouting your mouths off, same seems to be happening again. You have bought 2 Man Utd rejects, see the above point regarding Duff, you have bought Wickham, not worried about him at his age, record is terrible even in the NPC. Look at the players we have brought in, I can't complain with any of them. I am sure one or two more will join.
it was one of your fans that said gardner-tiote not us, we said you cant compare the 2 lol as for whickham, name me a player of 18 that has set the world alight and scored hatful of goals, there are not many around, if any.
How was Larsson proven quality? He was ****ing **** mate. As for Gardner, he scored a few but didn't exactly set the PL alight did he? Brown got mugged every time he played for MU. Cabaye was first choice and was begged to stay in a Championship winning team. Marveaux I can agree with but Ben Arfa clearly has the ability. I take it that its not a gamble on Wickham? Dong Won? And the youtube comment, everyone watches youtube for info on players, where did you watch Wickham, as I could put my house on you not watching him everytime Ipswich were on tele, or Dong Won? I reckon you've watched all your new lads on youtube, pathetic point.
My point is, you don't seem to regard him as a gamble, yet hypocritically state that all of our signings are gambles.
Funny, the United fans who we spoke to when Brown signed on here didn't share that opinion in the least.
We finished ahead of you with our reserve and youth team for the last dozen games. We have a fully fit squad with 9 additions now and like for like, its a different story. If we hadn't had so many long term injuries to so many key players, we'd have cantered into the top half of the league instead of limping in. We went in to free fall and the young lads were not able to sustain the early promise. We have addressed that issue and some and go into the new season with a very strong squad this time. I dont think you have strengthened to the same quality and are relying heavily on the potential of players not proven. Can you honestly say that any of your new lads will be positive signings? Out of them all, Ba at least I have seen and is a goal scorer, if not a particularly good footballer. I can definitely say with absolute confidence that Brown, O Shea, Gardener, Larsson and Vaughan will be just fine at this level. Wickham we shall see but he wont be fazed by the step up and Won is like all of your buys, a total gamble.
of course he is a gamble, nearly every player is a gamble unless you get them on loan with a view to buy, he has the potential to be great, whether he lives up to it remains to be seen.
Just a point of note there cest, we weren't haggling for Taylor. We offered 1 million. No more. There is no haggle there. They turned it down. Deal dead. Simple as that. You say we will sign another leon best........how do you know this. Wish I was privy to some of your info like. Could sleep easier at night. Cheers for letting us know that you know for a FACT that enrique is going to Liverpool. Some bold statements on pure speculation there like mate.
Well considering all of our strikers were ****, Nolan and Tiote got suspended at the same time, we had Lua Lua, Ferguson, Sammy Ameobi, Ryan Taylor and Nile Ranger all play quite a few games also, not exactly first team. Injuries are part n parcel of football, you'll get them again, we both will. You seem to have it in your mind that our new lads will be failures, please think for one second what we would be like if they are actually a success?
Larsson ****e? Funny that isn't it but Alan Partridge wanted him as well. Wonder if you would have still said he was ****e if he had been lining up for your lot next season instead of the top NE club? If you want to think that Brown is ****e as well you can but it shows your pure ignorance up as a football commentator if you do. BTW, you STILL havent addressed O Shea's inclusion v Hair Bear Bunch? Are you still looking for a medal he has won to help him out in the comparison stakes? Lol I've said Won is a complete gamble and so too is Wickham but he is a far better bet than two unheard of and totally unknown players that have NEVER played in the English game. BTW, you may like to tell us about the goals he scored against your lot in the Championship AGAINST the very same defence you now say is better than ours? How did Coloccini fare against him. Was he like you? A Plank. See, you have to get up a bit earlier if you want to engage the CEST. Won wont be spearheading our campaign either but you better hope and pray Cabaye and Marveaux do live up to your expectation because they are your plan A next year. Won is our Plan B. Like I say, you can keep telling yourselves you have signed the next Zinedine Zidane's if you like, however they might just turn out to be the next Marcelino's or Boumsong as well?
Coloccini was undoubtedly crap for his first few seasons. I'll be interested to see how he fares against a fully functioning Sess/Gyan combo...
As I say, you lot had better hope and pray they are a success, cos Partridge doesnt have a plan B if they're not. Our gambles (Wickham and Won) are not plan A and will be given time and patience to blend in. Cabaye and Marveaux will have to hit the ground running along with Arfa, or you'll be in **** straight from the off. I said it 4 weeks ago and I'll restate it now. You will regret totally letting Nolan go. his goals were the difference between staying up and going down and you haven't signed one player that you can nail your hat to as a replacement. Its all hope and pray stuff at Sid James at the minute and having been there as a Sunderland fan, I know how that can backfire with disastrous results.
Once again you resort to insulting, ffs stick to a ****ing discussion man. O'Shea won medals at Man Utd, not Sunderland. Nicky Butt anyone... Wickham scored a 'goal', not 'goals'. As for Larsson, I fail to see any proof that we tried for him this summer? Coloccini has improved greatly, had your strikers in his back pocket on both occasions. But clearly shows your ignorance that you haven't noticed his improvement I guess. Graham Carr scouted our players, not Pardew, and I trust Graham Carr, great knowledge for football where ever he has been.
Mate, perm experience or not, there is no garuntee that any of your signings will be a success at you club anymore than our signings will be at ours. Only Bruce knows how he will deploy them. Tiote was unknown and unproven but he slotted straight in. This might not happen with our new players but it might. Same goes for you lot. Personally for me, larsson is one of the players I wouldn't of taken. Decent delivery, decent with a dead ball but then again so is Ryan Taylor. The skipper on the ship I'm working on Is a Birmingham season ticket holder and watched them for over 50 year. According to him larsson is not the player he should be. But who's to say he won't turn out to be a good player for you lot. Time will tell.
