Mini fight back from Oz getting to lunch at 72/3. Tricky 25 mins but they scored 34 in 6 overs as England pushed. England bowled superbly and tbf all of the Australian wickets came off good balls. Cook has been good, bringing on Finn early, but perhaps missed a trick chasing that 4th wicket. Much better match than the last test.
Sounds like a bright opening from England - if they can bag another wicket in the first 5 or 6 overs after lunch it would really put the cat among the pigeons
I think the cat is in already in the loft Oddy! 3/4 of their key batters gone and a few unknown quantities to come. Great chance for England if Cook keeps on the offensive.
Yeah Oddy..seaming plenty but not much swing. It will quieten down when the ball gets softer and the pitch dries out but the covers are on again and plenty of moisture around. I just think that when the Oz top four don't get runs (doesn't happen often with Rodgers mind you!) they don't have the depth in the middle order to recover. We have a fantastic middle/lower order, despite Lords.
Send them for an egg curry and a gallon of Guinness - oh no, wait, that would mean they do get runs. What's the opposite? Something to constipate them? Cornish pasty with a chip buttie
Ah the glory of an English summer soft going at Ascot and Goodwood, cricket rained off, the open running to a 5th day. It was much better last year with the "Tour de Yorkshire"
Well it's time for bed. I'll lie there in the dark imagining all sorts of things. Within half an hour I'll have convinced myself that I'll wake up to find us bundled out for 140.
