JK - don't know if you have read the EDP match report but if it is to be believed he was the only player we had on the park last night. For me it was a mixed performance - his movement was intelligent and I am sure he would have benefitted from having a more create player in central midfield but his first touch let him down on occasion and he still seemed to be shrugged off the ball too easily. Would have been fantastic had he slotted the one on one away but as he missed it just felt like he and the crowd were both a little deflated. He had a good header on target late on and if nothing else his attempts on goal were on target.
The chap just needs to find his scoring boots - everything else is there for him to be a class package. All strikers go through this at some stage.
Sorry, but assuming you mean RvW, a return of 7 (seven) goals in 2 seasons - one of which was in La Liga, nowhere near the overall standard of the Prem, is not a bad run of form in anybody's book! It's quite pitiful, actually.
I thought RVW had a half decent game. His build up work was good, but his finishing was poor. A goal would do wonders for his confidence
Pre season Friendlies is not all about winning, in fact it's not about winning at all.....It is all about trial and error and who works better with who. It's about getting match fitness and trying out new things. Of course if you win then that's great but it is not the most important thing in a Friendly. The benefits are for the manager and the coaches to determine what works and what needs work on and to iron out any issues that arise.
