Exactly my point above. They just don't watch what's actually going on closely enough. He was trying to sound informed about the long-term loans leaving and I think Toszer is the only one who falls into that category.
It's getting to the stage where the club should issue a set of questions and answers on the website so that people actually know exactly what's going on. As a matter of fact I was half thinking of doing something like that on here . Joking apart you can hardly blame opposition fans for having the view they do when it's coming from major media outlets and being passed off as fact....
They won't really be able to comment on our squad as I presume most pundits will know nothing about the new players expect they are foreign.
Saw this on the Sky Bet site. Will Fenwick: Watford 20th, Leicester 19th, Sunderland 18th at 200/1 seems a decent bet. I don’t fancy the Black Cats or the Foxes and Watford are the worst team to be promoted this year. Jess Gill: My exact treble order would be Watford 20th, Sunderland 19th, Bournemouth 18th. I think Watford and Bournemouth will struggle to get enough points with their attacking philosophies and Sunderland have one of the weakest squads in the league, where they’ve been lucky to survive for the past few seasons. Aiden Hennigan: I’m going to go for Watford 20th, Sunderland 19th, Bournemouth in a heart-breaking finish to the season in 18th – 100/1 Well Mr Fenwick - we have brought in 10 new players (at least) to join the "worse team to be promoted" and well if we don't attack/score goals we won't get anywhere... Of course we shouldn't expect pundits to predict us to have a wonder season or anything (they never do..) but you'd think a bit of common sense could be used. If they said the signings look good but need time to gel and we might have issues in defence (more worried about than scoring goals) then fair enough.
It was more the fact we've actually added so many to the squad that got promoted the team we had last season might be pretty irrelevant... Also believe me I'd rather we did attack and use our strengths than sit back trying to defend (I guess they mean like Blackpool when they went up?) Anyway we will see - most pundits just put the promoted sides around the bottom 3 as naturally its easy to do. Just Bournemouth will be everyone's favourites - least you've got Alex Neil and Delia Smith who the media will like! We aren't plucky enough or big enough I guess to be liked and of course the overseas factor comes into it.... Its about time some teams like Villa/Sunderland got relegated I think!
I've got some very good friends who are Sunderland fans so I'd rather they did ok, Villa would please me no end if they went down, I can't see Bournemouth being referee's friends this time so, hopefully, they'll beat Derby's low points record. I suppose the third slot may go to WBA but Pulis has never been relegated at any club he has managed! Never say never eh?
Also donlt forget that West Ham have got to break the Allardyce Voodoo to stay up. Wasn't it Sunderland who had to move into the SoL after just being relegated? how sad if that happened to the Spammers
three from: Bournemouth, Villa, Leicester, West Ham and Norwich. I also think Southampton and Swansea will struggle.
Bloother, I think you might be right with Southampton. Last season Koeman played nearly a full strength side in most games, even early cup games, so will the additional Europa League games cause him problems?
Bookies want people to bet on things that aren't going to happen, so I am rather dubious of any predictions they make.
A decent enough view of our chances from Betfair. https://betting.betfair.com/footbal...ague-2015-2016-betting-preview-260715-39.html
Positive article from the Daily Mail of all places! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...lian-owners-come-long-way-Elton-John-era.html
Thanks for sharing this Mark - and to OFH for the betfair one. Twqo things spring to mind about that very positive Mail one - first, it's nice to see comment about Troy Deeney without mentioning the off field issue. Second, who is going to tell the Evertoin fans that we won the cup in 84?
