Fair enough leave the loan signings till the last minute but a position as crucial as a centre forward should be sorted by now imo. We aren't even linked with anyone. If we go into the new season with Graham, fletcher and Wickham as 3 of our 4 we deserve everything we get further down the line...and the only natural goal scorer we have plays out of position! Needs sorting NOW...

I think we need to get rid of a few before Ellis will sign the cheque

Window closes end of sept, so there is time yet
I share your frustration (a bit) though

    12 days to go?

    I make it 35 or 36 mate.

We are coming up to the half way point of the transfer window and have 4 players in, no need for being even close to panicking yet <ok>

Johnson (right) Defoe (centre) Lens (left)
Front 3 v Leicester. I'd be happy with that

He probs wont play Defoe in the middle though! Danny bloody Graham owned that spot at the end of last season. Imo Defoe needs to play in the hole...also we don't know what's going to happen with Johnson or Alverez..

We've just added a cf option in Lens, much rather have a new CM for the season start.

And we were linked with one today fella. Ola Toivonen. Don't panic mate, it will be sound.

Transfer window is a joke. Is there a reason why its still open weeks after the season starts?

Just curious which striker would you like us to sign?

Decent strikers seem to be ridiculously hard to find at the minute and a lot of strikers seem ludicrously over priced (serbian lad at newcastle, Charlie Austin, Jordan Rhodes just off the top of my head). I agree we could do with another option up front once we get rid of some of the ****e, but surely we're best served taking our time and trying to find some value from somewhere.

i'm not panicking, am half expecting another signing to be brought in under the radar soon.
I cant imagine for one minute that the club are not doing business, they just aren't broadcasting it.

lots of flying rattles on here at the mo'.

if it stays like this by the end of the window then have a moan. until then, ktf. these days we don't broadcast what we're doing. finding the players we need ain't gonna be easy.

I'm not worried about it just yet, but I am baffled we were never in the chase for some of the other transfers I've seen.

Afellay to Stoke for nowt, why weren't we in? Behrami to Watford. There's been some really decent signings made of players who would have been a great fit for us, so I'll be mega surprised if we aren't working on something.

Afellay for nowt a Dutch international who can play left, right or centre and no interest? That one really has me scratching my head like.

yes potentially some good signings have been made out there, the only thing I can think of is that they were not what we were looking for?
we all know Lee C was given a list of potential targets by Dick so we just gotta play the waiting game.

Would worry me mate if we aren't looking for players like Afellay & Behrami, cos they are EXACTLY the kind of players we need!

cant knock them. Its maybe who we would buy for our club and who we think we need but obviously the powers that be see it differently?

I am clinging to the fact that we must be working on deals, cos the idea that we aren't makes absolutely no sense at all.

15m? I would pay the money all day long for him. Agree about the other two though.

As I see it,would every Club looking to get transfers in,really be aware of every Player in the World who is available.for them to make a bid for or apply for a loan, with a possible option to Buy later ????.
Occam's Razor is a line of reasoning that says the simplest answer is often correct,so if you apply that to some of the Players that have gone to other Clubs, perhaps we just did not know they were available , perhaps we are looking in different Countrys, different Leagues !.Club Scouts can not be everywhere,so the manager etc must have some specific ideas in mind of what he wants, and until he gets a Player who meets that criteria,AND is available then the Club will keep on searching, but without a doubt they will be searching for those that have been identified as targets for transfer.
It was interesting to read that Bournemouth are even checking Players Social Media,to see if they might fit into their transfer plans.

I'd pay £15million in a blink for Austin think he'd score at least 15-18, and that would be close to top 10 for us, no question.
