What doesn't add up is why Fergie wanted LVG in 2002 but would rather have 'won nothing Moyes' as of 2013. Weird.
Whats the common denominator, Mourinho moves every few years, sorts out the clubs he's accomplished his mission after winning the league at everyone (minus the first 2 when he was learning). Van Gaal whilst started off great and was on the path to greatness (like Rafa) messes up when he goes back to Barca resulting in le sack and again at Bayern where he fails to meet expectations and again gets the sack
He took Madrid nowhere tbf. He was a dreadful manager in Spain (achieved the bare minimum in 3 years). Thankfully, and not for the first time, Carlo came in and cleared everything up. Jose leaves clubs in a state. Van Gaals previous clubs, outside of Holland, tend to go on and be the very best in world football.
I think the Op is just UIR dreaming, get José out the way so that Utd have half a chance again. Anyway Rodgers is better than both managers history will tell in time.
You mean the Carlo thats just been sacked (again). So Mourinho goes to clubs, wins them leagues and trophies leaves and they go to ****. Poor planning or maybe Mourinho got them batting above their average (i will give you Real that he could have done better). Sounds familiar to a legend that i know. Alex Ferguson who we all know is one of the modern great managers of the game did exactly the same thing. He won things at Aberdeen, he leaves and Aberdeen go ****. He won loads of things at United he leaves and again they go to ****. I wonder if Fergie left clubs in tatters or maybe like Mourinho he has them pulling above their weight
This myth that Jose was dreadful in Spain perpetrated by the Jose haters is bloody hilarious. He won 1 title in 3 which baring in mind how good Barca was during that time isn't exactly awful. He made 3 C.L semi finals in a row as well. It wasn't his best spell in management but certainly not a failure by normal (i.e non Madrid) standards. This is a club that sacked Capello straight after he won the league!
fergie had been here for going on 30 years. 10 times as long as Jose has ever been in one place. It was inevitable that the club would suffer and decline in the immediate aftermath. This was compounded by making the worst possible choice to succeed him. Had we hired someone like van Gaal a year earlier, the fall would have been far less severe. It needed a brave man with balls to take over from Fergie. We got Moyes. Dark times.
Porto - Signed players of his choosing. Won consecutive trebles (UEFA & CL) Chelsea - Won two league titles. Flopped in Europe. Signings forced on him Inter - Made his own signings. Won a treble Real Madrid - Players forced on him, very embarrassing time for Jose. Looked like the biggest **** in a club rammed full of ****s. Tried to blind a man. Chelsea - 1 league title..... has become a net spend manager. Romans given up spending his own money so Jose and his upcoming successor (Big Sam?) will be free from Romans exquisite tastes. Seems he works better when some bellend isnt sticking his ore in.
This is a desparate thread, by any standards! I'm not a fan of The Smug One's dull brand of football, but given a choice between him and Mr Dodgy Barnet, I'd take The Smug One every time. Loathe him or love him, the one thing that The Smug One always does is make his teams very hard to beat. Not many managers have that in their locker. Yes, we all joke about Chelsea "parking the bus," but there is clearly more than that about his game. Le Prof, who is fabled with being a clinician of the game, hasn't managed to beat a Mourhino side, yet. Won't happen on Sunday, either. The Smug One is clearly the best manager in the world, at the moment. Can he change his style of play? We'll see, but I'd put money on him succeeding. If Mad Dog does sack The Smug One, I can see United sacking Mr Dodgy Barnet and snapping him straight up. No question about it. And all those plastic Mancs who sneer at The Smug One will be kissing his arse the minute he set foot in Salford. It soils all of us, but that's the way the World of footy turns.
I didn't say it was great, it was acceptable baring in mind Barca, probably the greatest club side ever were his competition. How many titles would United have won under Fergie or otherwise during those 3 years? My guess would be none.
Baring in mind Fergie's United were embarrassed twice by Barca in Champions League finals, I doubt it....
And he also dumped them out in 2008 were we went on and embarrassed Chavbus FC with the slipping defender
