No way we would get Hummels for less than £30m Bobby. I think the end figure for Stones will be around the £30-32m mark
Yup absolutely, when we paid 50m for Torres i was fuming too but this is chelsea. No doubt we will pay it then have him stay on our bench. We've been doing that recently with some big money signings. Schurrle, Cuadrado to name a few
I will wager now that he will still be at Goodison come the close of the transfer window. Not sure what I could wager on an internet forum.....but I am certain he will still be here
I admire your optimism mate. Personally I think he'll be gone. The hint in the press yesterday that United were considering a bid appeared to force Chelsea into fresh action, and seemed a tad contrived to me (Newcastle's 'bid' for Rooney comes to mind). I think they'll end up at a price that we won't be able to resist.
Obviously he thinks better . You would have to ask him to be sure though . He also think Mikel is adequate when hes poo poo
I didnt say we would. ? I was responding to Bobby saying we should use the £26m we had bid for Stones to get Hummels and I said we wouldn't sign him for less than £30m. Wouldn't be able to sign him at all right now to be honest. Next summer maybe.
Not an optomist, a realist. Which of Terry and Cahill will he push out of the starting 11? At 21 a year on the bench is not going to help his development and Chelsea will suffer as they have done with Sturridge and the guy now at Wolfsburg.
No worries. I think whether Stones comes or not will depend on Stones to be honest. I think Everton will sell if they get an acceptable price. But it will probably end up being Stones' decision. Whether its good or bad for his progress, he will probably see that we have offered to double his salary, so that may tempt him. A couple of weeks ago I would have said this was a no go. Now I am 50/50 on it.
He is a Barnsley lad, a lad who lived at home... I doubt earning £70k a week at Goodison or Stamford Bridge will make a difference. It's all about how he will grow as a footballer, no doubt he will learn lots from Terry....But if he is only putting that into practice for the U21's then why move when you play first choice and for England at your current club?
Football is fickle, he might think that the opportunity to join the current Champions, get some game time in the CL and be groomed as Terrys successor might not come up again. We'd be daft to think that it wouldn't be of interest to him solely because he can have an automatic first team place at Goodison. We'll see in the coming few weeks fella.
Is it now? So which Premier League have you been watching for the last 10 years? Its about the money with most kids these days, sadly. Look at Sterling.
In fairness, it's not all about the money with Stones, as I know a few people who have been / are, quite close to him. He's a very grounded lad, sure the money will factor somewhere in his thinking, but he's certainly no Sterling who loves the dollar and the lifestyle. Stones isn't of that ilk.
Sterling is a standout example of it, an extra despicable little ****. He will find he gets booed at every game, in every ground, whenever he gets the ball. Should be fun. Yeah I don't know Stones personally (obviously), but you will be surprised how much a £50,000 a week pay rise can turn a kids head. Though I saw somewhere that he is on £33k per week with Everton, which is an awesome wage for a 21 year old at a mid table club to be honest, so extra cash may not be his priority at this point.
So if Everton can match what Chelsea are offering then I am sure he would be happy to stay. Putting his wage up to £80 or £100k a week with a nice release clause would be the way forward with all the extra cash I am sure we can afford it
