I agree if we have the money but I'm sure that you will agree MC has never shown any desire to put money into the squad without McCormacks money what would we have done last season so to get better players we need money to do this unfortunately we have to sell some .Now I would love to sell the likes of Wootton Morison Bianchi Ajose but we would get next to nothing for them they are dead wood so we have to sell someone who will generate funds ie Byram

 

But we don't HAVE to buy players every season. Obviously it helps, but your far better keeping a proven talent in your squad than selling him and buying 2 or 3 unknown talents imho. Ask Liverpool when they sold Suarez, ask Spurs when they sold Bale. Different kind of talents but the same rule applies.

We have a great academy and we are able to use it, every season we get a talent out of it who comes into the first team and holds down a place. And to add to that, we haven't sold anyone who would be seen as important to the first team yet we have signed 6 players. I don't think we are in need to constantly sell.

Despite what Redfearn tried to pretend it has been rank average for thirteen years.
We had a great academy,but it has been overtaken by every club that has been in the prem since we departed.

 

I'm in violent agreement with this statement. We used to turn out PL standard players. Now at best we sometimes turn out Championship players that take time to acclimatise. No real stars. Back in our PL past, Byram would never have broken into the first team - and he's the best we've produced for quite some time!
