Not really a first 11 player He was always behind Joe Bryan and Derrick Williams, this was going to be last year of his contract it seemed the best thing to do. We get some cash in and Greg gets to play regularly again. Maybe Levi Ives has been brought in as back up to Bryan and Williams on the left side, and not as a youth player like others believe.
Sounds like a huge risk, considering Cunningham was one of our better players when we were in the Championship. I can't say I know much of Ives, so not sure if he's cut out for this level. Given the sheer lack of options, I can only assume that we'll be seeing a mass promotion of players from the academy this season.
Didn't someone make the ill fated comment "you can't win anything with kids" not saying we are Man U. But sometimes kids have more enthusiasm and want to impress. Anyway Wilbraham is just a kid to me now
Really rated Cunningham a couple of years ago but it might be a good move all round if it provides some extra spending power.
Told you he was leaving six weeks ago! He has been a great servant to us and is a rated championship player, its only fair they let him get a game somewhere, top pro, not moaned once! (had a few tickets off him too, top man!)
It's now official. He's left for an undisclosed fee. Since we're reporting this, I reckon we let him go on the cheap. It's worth reading between the lines though with what Cotterill has said: Manager Steve Cotterill said: “Greg had very little playing time last year with the emergence of Derrick Williams and Joe Bryan, so we’ve decided to let him move on. “I know that leaves us short on numbers, but we had young Lloyd Kelly who played tonight and did very well, and we couldn’t really stand in Greg’s way when he had this opportunity. “We’ll be looking to strengthen in that area. We’re already on to something else and maybe that one will drop for us next week. “We wish Greg well, he was great for us and we wish him all the best with his new club.” It sounds like we're promoting from within for rotational options, and that there may be a new signing in to replace Cunningham. I'm still confused as to why we're letting him leave. The squad is worryingly thin now, but I guess all we can do is trust in the managers judgement, and hope that more signings are on their way. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/cunningham-completes-preston-switch-2574890.aspx
He hasn't let us down so far This is Cotterill's team, i'm sure he has a cunning plan Just think how much fun we'll have watching it all unfold
Cunningham gone to PNE, all the best to the guy, I wish him well.... http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/cunningham-completes-preston-switch-2574890.aspx

Much like JET I wanted Greg to stay, proven quality at this level and would have easily stepped in should Joe Bryan get injured or lose last seasons form. We need good quality depth at this level, so I truly hope this does not come back to bite us. That said, his contract is up next summer, and if he didn't get any game time, he would have walked for nothing, so I see the financial sense in this.
