Indeed. My favourite show is the wire, and thats vastly different season from season as it focuses on different criminal espects of the City. Was very jarring when I started season 2 for the first time. Mad Men though, I just got bored with the characters. They stopped being interesting.
Yes but I particularly hate the people who act like they are not exactly the same show type as big brother or celebrity jungle etc. I have a fool at work who swore black was blue when I told him his precious apprentice was big brother dressed up. It's like kids now watching George shore. It's complete scum TV. ... the only difference between it and dragons den is no cursing and nobody pretending to shag under duvets. It's all cheap TV that's contributed to a get famous quick world of zero talent. Woe betide us when such pond scum end up more famous than real talents
Reality TV. I don't watch many of this type of programme, I watch I'm a Celebrity but not every year and it's a bit of fun for the kids and nice to see a celebrity have a breakdown (or fake a breakdown, both amusing). BGT and X Factor just bore me, Big Brother is just terrible now although I did like the original concept. The really terrible MTV based ones are a disgrace and aimed at teenagers. The Big Brother idea of putting people from different walks of society together was interesting and the original show was pretty good as it was a bunch of normal people put into a strange situation but since then it's a search for idiots and freaks to put on TV they then turn out to be quite dull people.
It was interesting the first year and went down hill rapidly into the lowest common denominator The eternal shame is great TV cost money. ****e TV costs nothing.
Yes it's the first season I'm on about, it was an interesting concept, why move on to the freaks and ghouls that just make it dull? I do find it quite amusing though when this dressed up loud idiot making boasts of how crazy, nuts he is gets in there and is "Hi! I'm George pleased to meet you. I'm a little shy." ****ER!
Cos it sold more sadly. The radio and morning TV were driving it as it was really cheap and easy to just do a section on. All they needed was quick stories and they minted it It along with the original survivor series on usa TV set the tone for future. Torture fools desperate for attention to laugh at them. They are all so fake and obvious set ups. The Simpsons even did a parody of the genre. For me now anything with people off the street or fakery is to be avoided. If it's not a cast of actors or a fact based documentary etc I'm not watching.
remember american chopper on discovery? first 2/3 seasons half real... then it just got awful. phoned in and really poor or wheeler dealers... harmless little show. 14 years in trying to go to fukcing usa and se tup shop.. just stop lads you lose what made you a harmless show to watch now the history channel who used to do documentarys do ancient aliens and conspiracy theories all day cos its cheaper than actual real work.. just interview a nutjob or three.
I would like to think that on demand tv will kill this **** but i expect that by the time netflix get to a dominant position peopel will be streaming wall to wall geordie shore.
I'm a huge fan of Netflix but fully expect the cost of it to get silly at some point, that'll be a great shame as at the moment they are producing something that is versatile, good quality and accessable cost wise.
It has to. But the thing is amazon prime will keep them honest. As of now Netflix don't play the sports angle. This is the real season they can be cheapish. Once they go to that market the price will sky ricket. TV going out weekly is largely a thing of the past. On demand is far more with it today.
Humans was excellent last night. How ****ing fit is that slag Mila Jovavic? That follow up was on last night. worth it for the three leading women <slaver>
