I've finally worked out how to turn the ****ing ****ty swear ****ing filter off. Thank **** for that.
It's also not wrong to have complete indifference about either of them (unlike the sporting media which says you've just got to be interested enough to care) and to go and do something more involving instead. I reserve the right to just not give a s***.
I suppose it could be construed that way but I make the point purely to air the 3rd option. We really don't have to give a s***. Even though Mr Murdoch and his little gang of presenters and reporters might cajole us otherwise. Honest.
That figures - my son met him when he was racing in Formula Ford and said he was a really decent bloke - down to earth and engaging, as well as being helpful to junior drivers, such as Dave. Admittedly, he's gone up in the world and things change, but I do think he gets a bit of a bum rap and I'd put money on the fact that it's his entourage rather than him who are the prats in all of this. Whatever anyone says, though, he's a racer and (imo) only he and Fernando Alonso are "real racers" out there now (ok - special mention to Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi) - most of the others, such as Rosberg and Vettel are almost automatons who pilot are phenomenally difficult and high tech piece of machinery around a track.
Harsh on Vettel there Dave - he's a nice bloke and a hell of a driver. Kimi isn't the same driver he once was - I don't think Ferrari were smart to take him back.
Anyone know what Gordon Taylor does/has done to deserve a £2million pay rise ? Obscene when there are lower league players earning a fraction of that.
Max Verstappen will, after finishing fourth in the Hungarian Grand Prix ahead of some of the best drivers in the world, set his sights on passing his driving test. The 17-year-old Toro Rosso driver is not yet old enough to take to the roads unattended in his native Belgium. please log in to view this image Getty Images He turns 18 in September and will now use the four-week summer break from F1 to brush up on his road skills ahead of his driving test. "I'm doing my lessons in the summer break and then will take my test around my birthday in September," said Verstappen.
Agree with your view of Kimi - should have stayed in rallying! However, my view of Vettel is a personal one based on the way the team bent over to help him to the detriment of Mark Webber, who was a better driver and nicer bloke (imo). Vettel is arrogant and unfeeling - but we all have a view, eh?
Off to Benalmadena Wednesday (right by Juanmi's Malaga) for 2.5 weeks, won't be on here for the duration.
See above my point regarding Vettel being hard on the team. He's a competitive, tough bugger no doubt, but you'd want him on your team. Mark was too easy, and ultimately not as good. You can't possibly think he was a better driver, surely? Vettel is a long way from unfeeling out of the car (or arrogant). He's a big family man and fiercely protective of their (and his) privacy. He's also a big fan of everything English, and is reputed to be very funny - his job is his job and he's there to be the best - hence being a 4 time World Champion. I'm not a 'fan' as such, but you can't deny his ability.
