A football match threatened to break out at one point. Green made a good save on the break after we should have had a penalty.

I've gradually drifted off but not much happening now.

On the Bet365 rolling wave, still 0-0 after 40 mins - pretty pathetic if we can't notch up a few goals against this lot!

Newport are 6 - 2 in corner kicks.

Truly "live" action - some poor sod there pumping these details in.

45 mins 0-0 Newport County getting corner after corner!

Add one on the other side (now 8 corners - HT must be a relief for Ramsey to regroup).

Late on Sheffield United 2 Newcastle 2 - the Blades doing well pre-season.

Atalanta playing GIANA ERMINIO later - chance to check out our upcoming opposition.

Why couldn't we line pre-season against a few PL teams like Sheff Utd are doing.

Palace 0-0 against Sporting Lisbon in Cape Town after 25 min.

McCarthy started in net - doing a good job so far.

Hello and welcome to the Cape Town Stadium where Sporting Lisbon take on Crystal Palace in what promises to be an exciting Cape Town Cup Final.
    – 24′ offside call goes against Palace

    – 17′ chance for Palace! But Sporting clear the danger

    – 15′ mistake by goalkeeper McCarthy leads to another Sporting corner

    – 14′ corner kick for Sporting, but Palace clear their lines again

    – 11′ offside call goes against Palace

    – 10′ corner kick for Sporting, but Palace clear the danger

    – 9′ free kick for Sporting

    – 6′ offside call goes against Palace

    – 2′ corner kick for Palace

    – Sporting the game underway. They are playing from right to left, while Palace play from left to right.
    – kickoff

    Starting XI:

Crystal Palace: McCarthy, Ward, Delaney, Dann, Souare, McArthur, Cabaye, Puncheon, Mutch, Gayle, Murray.

Sporting Lisbon: Patricio, Jefferson, Naldo, Oliviera, Perreira, Adrien, Semedo, Carrilo, Martins, Gutterez, Slimani

Too much trauma from playing them all so recently.

We've looked ok. Kpekawa is a big unit and seems decent enough at left-back. Polter doesn't look great and the ball isn't sticking enough but the attacking midfielders look like creating something especially JET*

*with the exception of that thundercunt Hoilett

Kpekawa has been our best player in the first half, Chery looks like he needs to toughen up a bit, but he looks classy on the ball.
They have had a number of good chances, but Green has been very good.

To be honest the weather isn't great the pitch looks very heavy and there have been a couple of late sliding tackles that a couple of the players have managed to escape from. I get nervous for Faurlin every time he's challenged, Just hope he's fit all season.

If you'd asked 100 QPR fans five years ago where Damien Delaney would be now I don't think anyone would have said anything above League Two.

75 mins still 0-0, although I see we've had 3 corners in past 5 mins.

    Still 0-0 @ 85 min!

It is looking as though we need a striker who can consistently put the ball in the net

Match just dropped off the Bet365 screen, so assume a 0-0 snore bore - not paying $10/month for that kind of stuff - will catch a few live stream matches on Bet365 this season.

70 mins - McCarthy still hanging onto his clean sheet against Sporting (0-0)

Now 1-0 Sporting - kiss of death, beaten from a free kick at his near post.

2-0 now, just like with us.

Not a bad game today. Hoilett actually looked quite neat in the first half. JET not bad at all.

Wasn't so convinced by Wise or Polter. I can imagine Polter will grow as it's a new team and new country for him. But Wise... is he ready yet?
