No bearing on the Prem at all. But I remember they made an exception with Scholes once when he got a red card in a pre-season friendly. The PL banned him for opening game (or 3 games I cant remember) The only player that's happened to iirc.

Rivals were seething as it went against the "favouritism" conspirace theory towards Fergie & United.

 

It didn't just happen to Scholes.

It happened to Rooney as well.

 

It was in a tournament that was under UEFA rules so thats why they got banned at start of season

 

They changed the rule for the following season and if I recall correctly it benefitted Stevie No Titles despite the anti-Dipper conspiracy.

Many years ago I ****ed up my ankle playing football. I needed 6 weeks of physio which I was very pissed off about. And then I met the lovely young lady who I officially had several dates with over the next 6 weeks. Even better she wasn't allowed to cancel the dates and had to fondle me during them. Ok she may only have been fondling my ankle but still...

 

The fondling was in an #official capacity.
